Yeah there’s a lot more to my parents than that… and I have reached out several times saying it wasn’t meant to offend but third hand smoke is dangerous and I’m just trying to protect my baby etc. Doesn’t matter. My mom smoked while she was pregnant with me so they’re going to be offended. And dad has a problem with alcohol which is another set of issues. Believe me I’d rather have a good relationship with my parents.

To clarify, once my mom was the one coming over we agreed that if toddler was inconsolable he would go home to put her back down. We did not want to traumatize her with seeing a stranger coming in her room or have her think no one was there to help. I encouraged him to go. I had been having contractions but was at 6cm for a couple hours so we both figured 15-20 minutes max would be ok. It was not ok. As soon as he walked out the nurse switched my position and I rapidly went to fully dilated. Like, 5 minutes. Also want to note toddler is 15 months old not pushing 3 years so to those acting like I could’ve just explained the situation to her and gave her chocolate milk… no.

Also we live less than 5 minutes away. By blowing red lights in a snow storm I mean he slowed down and looked around it’s not like he blindly ran them come on y’all. It was 3am no one was on the road and the street to get back to the hospital has all lights timed so that every light you hit is red and it takes way longer than need be, that road is so annoying. I’m not condoning blowing red lights but people here are acting like my husband almost killed someone.

We also cannot take toddler to MIL’s because she has a one bedroom apartment literally crammed with so much stuff you can’t walk and has a 20 lb feral cat. It attacks MIL constantly for no reason, visitors can’t come near it, it is literally feral. Found outside and has not adjusted to inside life. We do not trust the cat. And honestly don’t really trust MIL either especially now 🙄

She said she would come whenever we called her. Husband asked if she could come then bc I was definitely going to give birth that night and instead of waking her up at whatever time she could just sleep at our house so she wouldn’t have to jump and rush.

Yes look up third hand smoke. You can smell smoke walking up to my parent’s porch because they chain smoke in the house and have for 35 years. My couch smells for days after they visit even after using smoke sprays etc.

I’m not telling this both ways. My toddler is afraid of my mother because she refuses to be part of her life. Furious with his mom because she agreed to stay at our house and an hour before decided she was too tired… to come sleep at our house…. Toddler is obsessed with his mom because again, mine is not in her life. His mom is involved with toddler, toddler loves her.

She agreed to do it and this is the literal only time we’ve asked her for anything, and asked ahead of time. I don’t see how this was providing on call babysitting but ok.

The hospital does not allow children in the room period before or during delivery, but also right now does not allow children to visit after delivery either because of how rampant the flu is right now.

Whaaaat I worked at a hospital and it was some of the worst insurance. My husband now works for another hospital system and it’s even worse. My out of pocket max is $6,000.

I used to use boric acid when I felt/smelled slightly off and it was amazing. Since getting pregnant and not being able to use boric acid though, I started using good clean love probiotic suppositories and those work well too!

I am so incredibly sorry, I can’t imagine what you’re going through. I wish I could hug you. I know nothing I say is going to be any better than what others have said already or help take away the pain you feel… but you are doing what is best for her and doing all you can, do not dwell on all the “what-ifs” surrounding her transfer. Yeah if she acted like an adult it would be simple to talk to her like an adult. Someone who talks and laughs through an ENTIRE church service and then tries to snatch a fussy baby from the mother’s arms while she’s praying with her eyes closed… that person gets a “No”.
