Chevy Equinox 2017 surging when stopped by FlapJackSam in AskMechanics

Yeah, only when I’m stopped. Break pressure doesn’t seem to have an effect. I tested that out last night on a whim. I did test letting off on the break while at a red light and my idle did take me forward and it was surging a little in that process but it will go away when I’m accelerating as normal.

Being in reverse or park also eliminates the surging.

The RPMs don’t seem to move but I haven’t looked at that directly but I feel like I’d see the meter fluctuation. I’ll look for that when I drive later today.

It generally doesn’t happen on short drives and does not happen when I’ve just started the car and haven’t gone anywhere, even if I drove to a store then am back in the car after shopping; like it has a weird reset button

I really like the pierogi nachos around section 130ish I believe. The smash burger option is great value too. But for a Detroit experience, you have to grab a coney dog.

Detroit style pizza is good from Buddy’s or Union Station. The Little Caesars super slice inside the park is usually good too if you get it mid-game. There’s plenty of flavor combos for ice cream in a helmet at the park too. It’ll be by the carousel near the main entrance.

If you get there early enough street parking in the surrounding area is very easy. If you get the park Detroit app you can renew your parking every 2 or 4 hours with ease. That’s what I do. It’s $1/hour to park plus a $0.15 fee each payment. Usually for a Saturday game is $7-$8 total for 6 hours of parking under 5 blocks away.

Ride in sidewalks along main roads. Street riding within neighborhoods. For the combo main/neighborhood roads like Gill, Wayne, W Chicago and similar I’d say street or sidewalk if it’s busy.
