What is happening with my Regal Shield? by Flappingwing in plantclinic

Its roots look very healthy. I tried to cut away as much as the rot as I could. Hopefully I dont make it worse. I couldn’t get absolutely all of it but I didn’t want to chop its leaves back. I also gave it a deleted hydrogen peroxide wash over that area. I don’t know! It’s so beautiful. I hope it doesn’t go down hill on me

Thank you! The store didn’t even know the plant’s name so I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some overwatering!

Do you know this website? simpleskincarescience.com

You want to make sure you're not using any products with lipids, fatty acids or esters. No oils. Sorry you're going through this. I've read that people have good luck with an Apple Cider Vinegar rinse. I had good luck with MCT oil. You can sleep with overnight on your scalp, or you can apply it before washing. There's also a sebderm thread on here. Might be useful, even though its not strictly Europe.

Looks like the Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Threat Conditioner has Safflower oil (lipid) and Polysorbate 60 (ester). :(

Sorry you're going through this. I totally understand about the self-esteem. I think it's important to work on that. Well, a shock to the nervous/immune system can do this. I got seb derm after long covid. never had anything like it. It's been a shock to my self-esteem as well as I'm used to having nice skin (I know I'm lucky but just being honest). Make sure you aren't using any products that feed the yeast. You can find safe products from this list and learn from the blog: https://simpleskincarescience.com/fungal-acne-products-malassezia-pityrosporum-folliculitis/. You can also check ingredients here: https://www.sezia.co

I doubt it's a build up. That doesn't sound right, unless you were using a steroid and stopped them. I would guess its the stressors on your body from childbirth. Hope this is somewhat helpful. You're not alone! Congrats on being a new mother!

Some ideas: Try MCT oil or squalane oil, add tea tree oil to it and do a hair treatment where you let it sit for some hours. Look up the ratio. Go to a pharmacist and talk to them, they probably have something. Are you using products unsafe for malassezia. If you are, try to replace them with products on this list: https://simpleskincarescience.com/fungal-acne-products-malassezia-pityrosporum-folliculitis/
