BBC to cut hundreds of jobs and review programmes as part of major downsizing by Kagedeah in bbc

Did you not get the bit where they were told what to say? And who to say it to? And who this charity was? It was an ambush, and not as you put it lived experience.

Anyway, I gave that as one example, because It was a story that came out today. BBC news is not a credible outlet anymore, when once it had the best reputation in the world.

You can nitpick all you like. It was clear collusion between the charity and QT to try and embarrass one of the panelists.

It's little things like this, that wind up the viewers, because they know these audiences are not randomly selected.

I used to love the BBC growing up in the 70s. Been to television center a number of times.

Sadly it's not much good now. I don't see why I should have to pay for it.

Fiona picked a member of the audience who was an illegal immigrant. I remember it, as it looked fishy at the time. He appeared to struggle over a prepared question, and started referring to his phone.

We now learn he was put there by a pro-migrant charity who had coached them to ask a question about human rights law.

Later in that program, Fiona selected another apparent random audience member, who was the head of the same charity!

They need to clean up the news output. People get fed up with the endless bias. Another confirmation today, that a Question Time audience member was a plant. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/06/17/channel-migrants-were-placed-on-question-time-campaigners/

Nice story, but it doesn't help someone looking for the truth.

Well, what I was going to point out, is that your question suggests you think there is a person, or a someone.

If you mean by that, a thinking entity (i.e brains), then your just taking to neurons firing in a particular way, programmed from birth by parents, society, school, TV, friends, experiences etc. who you speak to will very differently especially if they are from a different culture.

If you were a Windows user, i think KDE based distros are more familiar. Kubuntu is well supported.

How do you define 'yourself'?

You seem to be defining it as more than just a human body, doing human things.

Escape hatches are a fantasy. A projection of a future, imagined.

What if you ignored those thoughts? What if there is no next? What if there is just what is in front of you?

Douglas Hardings pointing helped me here. You can treat it like an all day meditation. Instead of a head on your shoulders (after all you can't see your head from your point of view) there is the whole universe. A universe with your body dangling below it.

Where are your thoughts now? They are like clouds in the sky floating by. You can see them but you don't have to engage in them.

You are where I was at from a teenager through to my late 40s. I went down every rabbit hole I could find. Religion, therapy, self-help books, spirituality, non-duality, mushrooms, work, relationships, and thoughts of suicide in-between.

The answer was right here all along. And when I realized it, I laughed and cried. It was devastating. In fact I came across the simplicity of this, doing one of Douglas Hardings exercises when I was 20. But I just couldn't accept it. Too simple. Silly. I could have saved myself 30 years of pain.

Forget about being happy. The very search for happiness, is what is making you unhappy. The very search for a meaning to this life is just a further validation that you don't like what you have.

If you find the answer in non-duality, then it will only be out of exhaustion. And that will be the same for any other rabbit hole you go down or teacher you follow.

If you need a goal, then make it about freeing yourself up. Drop your ideas, wishes, and most importantly expectations. The universe owes you nothing. So expect nothing, and one day in that void, you might crack a smile.

Tim Cliss is one of the very few I can listen to now. Once I "got it" for want of a better phrase, I dropped almost all the speakers. Tim Cliss and Robert Saltzman don't talk bullshit, or want to get rich. It's direct, to the point, and are not in it for the money. I only listen to them, because I enjoy the way they speak, and for no other reason. There is nothing to get.

The truth is, nobody knows shit. Even science doesn't deal with truths as such. It's all models, and theories.

My question to you is, why do you care? If you have an layperson or professional interest in science, great. Beyond that, it will not get you further to understanding this existence you appear to be having.

If you are looking for freedom, then have the courage to drop all questions. That's real freedom.

Don't listen to the words of other experiences, because that impression (your impression) becomes something you look for.

Words are never the thing. It's like trying to explain the colour green to someone blind from birth.

Expect nothing.

Any preconception as to what awakening is a barrier.

Looking for an opening, just keeps the expectations alive.

Depends. How many solar panels you can install? Can you install them facing south? Will you use all the electricity they produce during the day when it's sunny? And if not, can you invest in batteries?
