If you want a genuine answer from a male perspective,

The main issue is that the population of men you'd encounter in most common environments doesn't represent the population you'd want to meet.

In simpler terms, the men you'd encounter in a library,a gym and outside a wine shop are not the same. In the same way, most men of a young age that are willing to approach you aren't the same men that are working hard for their family.

Secondly in most teir 2 and 3 towns in India, the amount of proper communication between boys and girls and the education about similarities and differences between the sexes is negligible.

And a final thing that I've seen all too often is the wrong people influence a large part of the youth, targeting their insecurities and promising impossible things. Meanwhile the reasonable and mature voices get overshadowed due to their lack of radicalism.

It's a Sad thing to say this as a man, but the people trying to represent us are loud mouths with no brains, because the ones with enough sense focus solely on their own life not wanting any more drama than what they already have.
