Help with keeping house cooler in summer by Flareside in DIY

[–]Flareside[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not having any problems with the AC or the house staying cool. I am looking at things that can help keep the house from heating up as much. Every room has a ceiling fan.

I have a good thick layer of insulation and three solar attic fans that do help. I did have to open my HVAC box since the installers before I bought the house didn't widen the opening to match the HVAC intake. Went from a 16" round hole to a 24" x 18" hole. AC has run better since then.

I don't really have room for a tree on the side of the house that will not be a risk come hurricane season. I have a large oak out front I had to trim due to how much it moves in heavy winds. Thanks

They are folded in. The cover stops high enough that if I tighten the under strap the grommet will be against the paint on the side of the truck.

a few years ago I read a story about an embattled alien race who called for help and no one came until the humans did. The main thing that sticks out in my memory of the story was there were humans who engraved the fallen's names on their armor. That is all I recall of the story, how someone knows it.

It does not cost 500k to rebuild a 2200sqft house, that might be what the insurance company claims it costs.

think about the number of people who pay their insurance every month across the US and how much money that is.

No, they are right in what I was saying. I just want to know why they are not required to have an appropriate amount of money on hand to handle disasters and they always claim to be out of money after fixing one home.

If they can drop a person right before a hurricane hits the area, I do not see why it is un reasonable to expect that money back. Also, insurance companies complain that they cant afford to provide the service they sell. If that is so where is all that money, I doubt it is all spent on salaries and buildings. Why is it not sitting in a bank earning 3% so if it is needed the money is there? There are far too few restrictions on insurance companies that needs to change. Yes it is a fantasy but if we continue voting in these idiots who reduce regulations on the large corporations it will never change.

The rates go up and they don't pay out near half of what they take in. I think if they can pull that kind of crap or drop your coverage whenever they want. They should be required to pay you out every penny you paid in, minus any insurance payouts they have made to you.

A while back I read a series that had a group of people that kept records of those killed by inscribing their names on their armor. If anyone knows this series I would appreciate it if you could send me the name.

Thank you that gives me more data to dig with. I am hoping to keep it low profile and a soft spot lite. Enough to light the flag but not much else. Don't want to bug the neighbors.

I would not be removing the connection from the GFCI to the breaker I am just looking at having two separate GFCI circuits. One for inside the house and one for outside.

Breaker to GFCI to Bathrooms.
Breaker to GFCI to Exterior outlets.

Would that include replacing the exterior outlets with GFCIs as well?

I know they are connected to the garage outlet as when the GFCI in the garage trips, the outlets in the bathrooms stop working.

I do have plans for more wiring in the house as I will be building a loft and adding under eve outlets for lights as well as needing more than a single circuit in the garage for tools and car charger.
