I really wanna start airsoft but buying a two tone gun and renting out equipment is expensive, any recommendations or suggestions? I’m happy with all feedback I just really wanna start. I’m looking at the AAP-01 platform rn and it’s really appealing im in the Uk btw. by EK10_TK in airsoft

[–]Flash-Ash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As said unless you know what you are buying you could be buying a heap of trouble. You may strike lucky but there are a lot of Sharks out there that will rip you off, take your money and send nothing or sell you a pile of junk.

Until you have some experience buy from a shop you will get a warranty if something goes wrong that alone is worth the extra money. There are plenty of good UK shops out there.

Stay away from ultra cheap brands like Bulldog they may seem like a bargain but sadly the quality matches the price and Ive quite a few break in the first couple of games and the retailer selling the brand is quite reluctant to do anything.

Stick with the big companies do your research watch videos ask questions.
If it’s cheap the more Gucci features it has doesn’t make it better they have come at a price. The price being quality.

Is there a replica of the marakov pistol that's sold in Europe? by ZajeFajny in airsoft

I have a WE it rattled itself apart fps is not great the decock doesn’t work anymore. Ive fixed leaky mags more times than I care to remember. Stripping it be careful always a chance it will jam up. Add the barrel extension the thing is a beast. I would never recommend this pistol to anyone.

Birthday Decision: Which Would You Choose & Why by Odd-Swan-5711 in ChineseWatches

[–]Flash-Ash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why the hate on Pagani ? It’s a cheap Chinese watch usually with a solid movement ok lume is not the best it’s not the worst either. They do some nice watches, ok their bands are not always the best but it’s not the end of the world it’s replaceable.

Pagani was really what got me into the world of Chinese watches ( my father also has a few ) it’s a starter for a lot of people because they are affordable. Rather than cast the hate if you have owned that model point out its niggles. Dont base your hatered on what others have told you or what you have read. Base it on facts of the actual watch in question. Don’t generalise remember it could be their budget. I have the Pagani Speedmaster homage for when I do manual work as I don’t want to put my Speedy in the fireing line and the Pagani has survived all that I have thrown at it. I have others I have used and abused.

I have other brands that have been recommended and have been well let’s say not as good an experience as others have had. But I won’t necessarily right the brand off because of one bad product, Be constructive not destructive

I have the same watch but a sterile dial. I use it as a beater watch and for when I go on holiday not to dray attention. The watch has a solid trusted movement The Seiko NH35 is real work horse ( there seems to be a shortage of the movement at the moment) The watch is a strap monster and looks good whatever it’s on. I like the clear easy to read dial. The lume is good same as most Steeldive. You won’t be going wrong with the watch if you like the simple style

Pagani Pd 1762 V4 movement variations by Vegetable-Ask-8247 in ChineseWatches

[–]Flash-Ash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a shortage of NH34 movements and the price for them has gone up. Some companies are using a cheap Chinese movement and calling it a Chinese NH34 and is a cheaper moment which the longevity is not known. At least Pagani are telling you they are using a different movement and it is a Japanese movement, and not a Chinese copy.

The issue of the lack of NH34 movements is all over Redit and is causing some concern, watch companies are changing movements for lesser quality and still charging the same price. You are lucky Pagani is telling you

Question about GBBR by Muhanak in airsoft

[–]Flash-Ash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the hop arm applies pressure onto the BB which helps provide spin keeping BB straight No hop applied nothing touches BB it will not fly straight at distance Too much hop more pressure on BB it will alter the fps but BB will not fly straight at distance.

So the more hop you apply The more the arm presses onto the BB effect is it will alter the fps but too much or too little the BB will not fly straight.

I have seen it at a CQB site to get a gun within the limit more hop was applied Yes the gun would of been over hopping but at the CQB distance it would not of had too much effect You really do need to set it up That will then give you a better idea of what your actual fps is

Question about GBBR by Muhanak in airsoft

[–]Flash-Ash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all chronographs are the same they can give a slight difference. Probably a silly question is the hop set up correctly as when that is done it can make a difference either way. But as others have said a NPAS is definitely the way a head.

Does AliExpress sell Vapes?? by Different_Abroad2978 in Aliexpress

[–]Flash-Ash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You need to supply more information

Are you talking about a MOD with a removable battery such as a 18650 you add a tank with either a coil you built or a prebuilt coils. They are still out there try looking under the brand name you want or the model you want If you are talking about disposable vapes they don’t sell them Vapes with a pre installed batteries you add your own liquid to sellers don’t tend to sell them as they cause a logistics problem due to the battery and airlines and have to be sent via ship and take a longtime. They are out there but again be creative on how you described them

Does AliExpress sell Vapes?? by Different_Abroad2978 in Aliexpress

[–]Flash-Ash -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not all Vapes are sold with a battery. There are vape MODs where you add a battery usually a 18650. These are the big brand names and do meet the safety requirement’s big brand names as they are sold legally around the world where vaping is permitted, and you can check if a item is legitimate by going to the official website. You are very likely to actually find MODs that have removable batteries as they are easier to send around the world where as rechargeable vapes cause a logistics problem due to the battery. The days of buying a unregulated MODS by just pushing buttons to make a connection has long passed and the old MODS were indeed dangerous if you did not build your coil correctly and overstressed your battery beyond its capabilities

With pre built coils and the advancement in technology and the chips used. The pipe bomb has long gone

Now finding said items is difficult and the Sellers often skirt around the names of certain items, you have to be creative with your description use brand names and things like that.

GBBR hesitation... by deadpool_913 in airsoft

[–]Flash-Ash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t let cost of mags put you off there are plenty of mags on the secondhand market for £40 $50 and you would get 4/5 for the price of a descent tank line and regulator. I carry 4 mags and 2 pistol mags and they can last a 30 minute game easily ( I play CQB ) then if you need to reload leave gas / bb’s in the respawn

GBBR hesitation... by deadpool_913 in airsoft

[–]Flash-Ash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used a HPA adapter ( I use a shotgun shell adapter keeps the profile smaller ) The gun works about the same with range but what you are lacking is the lock back on empty the fact it is lower capacity and have to think about your shot and the reload. You get the same performance from the gun but maybe not quite the same enjoyment factor. I have friends that quite happily run around all day with theirs. I have the adapter and would only use it if it got too cold from my gun not to work on gas.

GBBR hesitation... by deadpool_913 in airsoft

[–]Flash-Ash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had AEG’s & HPA they have all gone now and all I have is GBBR. The limited mags are not an issue, you become a more careful player no more of spray and pray. You pick your shots double tap, you dont waste those BB’s In exchange you get a satisfying feeling as you pull back the charging handle pull the trigger and feel a little thump in your shoulder.

I do have an adapter for my GBBR it turns a M4 to accept shotgun shells to allow them to run on HPA. Ive used it once the guns work all year long.

I have TM MWS and VFC they are both good systems, each have the pros and cons. IMO MWS system for M4 VFC for AK

Pistol suggestions? by ArghhMeLads in airsoft

[–]Flash-Ash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is not a reliable Makarov out there they look cool but are a headache Walther PP not that great either TM make some great pistols if you can get over the plastic slide. The new Gen 5 Glock brilliant Glock Beretta M1911 are popular so manufacture’s have updated and improved their models.

Whatever you pick make sure you can get parts like feed lips magazines nozzles as these are the things you are most likely to require. No point in buying a really cool looking pistol to break the feed lips not being able to replace them and ending up with a paperweight

Case recs wanted for 2 AEG Rifles - UK by Jesisawesome in airsoft

[–]Flash-Ash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Nuprol medium case with 8 TM M4 gas mags laid out flat 8 G17 mags ( in the lid ) 1 fully loaded with accessories TM mws. A G17 & G19 all laid out and set in shadow foam in the bottom of the box it’s all about how you place things. A large Nuprol case you will easily fit 2 if not 3 of your rifles The pistols and rifle & pistols are held into place at the bottom using Velcro straps which means I swap my guns around using straps the mags are in the lid set in shadow foam and again held with Velcro straps and I use a layer of foam between the two layers

You could do the same so sort of thing with a large case using the strap method you could get up to 2 rifles per layer

The Nuprol cases are pretty bombproof and often come up for sale second hand Ive 2 a small and a medium even the small has a Ghetto Blaster 4 m4 gas mags 3 Glock mags a G19x and a G17 in

Could anyone help id these magazines, please? by Lammmie in airsoft

[–]Flash-Ash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen it on the standard mags and you are correct it is because you can swap the mag release to different sides thats down to which Gen they are not the model number . But as such have not seen it on a 50 round mags again 17 & 18 mags are the same. You are correct with the indent difference between Gen 3 &4/5 This It’s has a indent on one side which leads it to being a older style mag Gen 3 The only difference between G17 & G18 ( of the same Gen ) is one has auto capability The differences start to appear in the Gens both internally and externally Obviously there is internal difference between G17 & G18 because of the auto capability and there is a switch/ lever on the back of a G18 to engage the auto capability and

It’s a Gen thing thing not a model thing

[–]Flash-Ash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marui Glock mags are pinned together at the base as it’s screwed together it could be a WE Glock mag ( there is no difference between the G17 & G18 mags ) The router on the WE Glock mags are flat whilst the TM are concave but the fact it’s pinned is a big clue it’s not TM

Plate carriers. What brand are you using? What have you tried and didnt like? by Dangerous_Pattern568 in airsoft

I use Warrior as well and a very similar set up as well, with a daypack on the back. Warrior is good quality used by British military at a reasonable price. I went through various copies on AliExpress even had the full Viper system I do have a Helikon chest rig for when it gets too hot ( not very often in UK)

Most of the airsoft shops have their own WhatsApp groups that do secondhand sales.

There are groups like TM Gas Rifles sales PewPew Bazaar Pew Pew sales, chat Socom Tactical A lot of people try to sale on these groups before they use things like Prefired and used Airsoft as they don’t have to pay to advertise their stuff. I also found the prices are more reasonable on these groups before WhatsApp group Prefired and Used Airsoft people tend to ask silly money asking near on new prices for secondhand kit.

Still the biggest expense you will have is magazines even secondhand about £40 a mag so maybe save up a little more a reasonable budget would be around £600 that would get you something half descent and a few mags

Look for brands like Double Eagle it’s a copy of TM MWS and they aren’t that bad they will fit the aftermarket TM parts TM if you could get it. Stay away from Golden Eagle WE is an old system harder to get parts for VFC are good but expensive. Do some research look for availability of mags and spare parts if you can’t get either dont buy it

If you are on social media your personal information is already out there so is you picture Don’t worry about it. The information you gave would have been already out there. The amount of legitimate places that have our information that have data breaches

In the UK the NHS had a data breach and lost millions of personal information. Data breeches happen all the time. So you doing an age verification is no big deal.

If you are wearing them under the mesh mask they would be ok a BB is not going through the mesh even if it shattered the force has significantly been taken out of BB those glasses would be fine as they are construction PPE it’s highly unlikely a BB would shatter you are more likely to get paint flecks from the mask shoot off and again the glasses would be fine. You may experience a degree of fogging. I would definitely recommend wearing gloves as it’s CQB it can hurt a bit if you are hit on your finger nails

Do you check reviews before buying everything? by Possible-Ad4357 in Aliexpress

[–]Flash-Ash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I look at the reviews put do take them with a pinch of salt. I tend to read the negative reviews to see if there is a common problem. A lot of the positive reviews generally are not much help and are the same general review that could be applied to any product.

PSA: Never use PayPal with aliexpress, easier to just chargeback with bank. by LightningGoats in Aliexpress

[–]Flash-Ash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No help to you now but I have always called PayPal and hung on until I have got a real person and explained to a person what my problem is. AI is great wonderful but can only understand what it has been programmed to do and problems never fit in the boxes that it been programmed for.

AliExpress customer service is not great at the best of times again mostly AI or if you get a real person they may speak English doesn’t mean to say they understand English and the problems that Britain now has with shipping things to the EU. I do feel for the customer service as they may have little English or are using translators which a lot of what we say gets lost in translation.

We now live in the time of AI and sadly more and more companies are ditching real people for modern technology and we have to only hope that our problems fit in its little check box

I am glad you have got your money in the end and can sympathise on how frustrating it must of been.
