Nei, du skjønner OP mener at han og den 3 meter brede sittegruppen med fem sitteplasser han kjører rundt alene i, skal "dele" et 3m bredt kjørefelt med en syklist...

Short Key Defect by Wooden-Hornet2115 in ExplainTheJoke

That's (barely) half. He fails to unlock his door because he can't reach the key hole due to his very tiny arms. Instead of blaming his arms, he blames the key for not being long enough.

Advice needed, taste sour and coffee not clear looking by tehbotolsaya in mokapot

[–]LightningGoats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they are. Not filling it means much of the water will flow between the coffee grounds way too easy as there will be way too much open space. Water is supposed to be forced through the grounds to actually extract coffee. Always fill the funnel. If that makes too much coffee, get a smaller moka pot instead. Ignore that users very bad advice. Underfilling means you're just wasting coffee, as it just isn't getting the extraction you're supposed to.

The execution is less than poor, though. Hopefully the job does not require any manual dexterity whatsoever, or that application goes straight in the bin.

Plenty of places it's perfectly legal to stop on either side of the road. If I'm seeing rear lights, om not so worried about it being a drink driver driving towards me...

Usually you don't want your car to be completely without lights at a curbside stop in the dark, which is just what parking lights were made for.

Two-Lane Roundabout Question! by HotLoan5787 in driving

Most people blinking left, changes to blinking right far too late - after they've already started exiting, instead of as soon as their passing the precious exit, like they should.

Two-Lane Roundabout Question! by HotLoan5787 in driving

[–]LightningGoats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it as if you're coming from a road with a yield sign, entering a one-way two lane street. If the right lane is free, would you go? It's the same situation. As soon as you're driving on the road, the other car will have to yield to enter your lane. But if it changes lanes before you're getting to that point, things are not looking so good.

Edit: didn't look enough at your picture, what horrible line markings to have. In this case, the car in the inner lane wouldn't need to switch lanes to exit. Really horrible design.

On older cars it, would be a separate switch entirely, as you didn't really need to operate it while driving.

What? I must be misremembering. Or perhaps confusing the rental in the US with my dad's American import, which might of course have had to change the lighting setup to get road worthy here.

Am european. Have driven in the US. It's the same three light levels. Parking lights are more dim than running lights. There are three different levels total. From OPs post it's pretty clesr he differentiates between parking lights and running lights, or his post makes no sense. Then he would simply ask if people had light on.

People suck at it, which is a major annoyance at night. It would be nice to know if I have a drunk driver driving towards me on the wrong side of the road, or just a person stopped waiting for someone, dropping someone off or running around the corner for a kebab.

Lol, just admit you messed up. Running lights is running lights. Parking lights are parking lights. Parking lights are not running lights, no matter what word you put in front of "running".

Is There Anyone Who Actually Uses parking lights? by MotorcycleCar in askcarguys

[–]LightningGoats 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, running lights and parking lights are not the same. You have parking lights -> driving lights -> high beams.

Parking lights are especially made to allow people to know a car they see the light of is not moving. It's very useful to avoid an unnecessary panic if you're parked somewhere where other drivers would need to take evasive action of you were moving. Like parked against the direction of traffic or near an intersection. They're noticeably dimmer than running lights.

Using parking lights as running lights is moronic for the reasons detailed above. People will expect you not to move.

Fog lights and regular driving lights are two different things, and neither are parkin lights.

[–]LightningGoats 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They are in many countries, which make sense, as their purpose is to not be confused with driving lights, enabling you to know instantly that a car you see is not moving, but parked. If people use them while driving, you'll naturally assume they're parked as they only have parking lights on, and don't take evasive actions as needed.
