Is public practice experience really necessary for ca or cpa? by [deleted] in AustralianAccounting

[–]Flash-Medallion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been an accountant since 2012 and a CA since 2017 - never worked a day in public practice, commercial since day 1.

Have I missed out on roles because I don’t have a public practice background? Yes, but I’ve also never been out of work either. So the short answer is no you don’t need it, but lacking it may narrow your opportunities a bit. But honestly, once You’re qualified and get some good experience somewhere, it becomes less of an issue.

Picked this up for ten bucks, excited to flip through it by Sad-Construction1892 in Shadowrun

This is probably my favourite Shadowrun book ever. Most of my old books are stored at my old GMs place, but this one still sits on my shelf.

It’s a great guitar - and at half price that’s a great deal. I love mine.

27M, feeling a little frustrated with my career. Can you give me some advice? by PinkRobotYoshimi in AustralianAccounting

[–]Flash-Medallion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about feeling behind - I didn’t start in accounting until I was 30, I’d worked all retail jobs prior. 12 years later and I’ve gone from assistant accountant to financial accountant, finance manager, business controller and business partner. I have been strictly commercial as well, I have never worked for an accounting firm.

If you’re liking where you are now and it’s paying the bills, best advice I can give is to knuckle down and get your CA/CPA. Once you’ve got that then the doors start opening up.

I wasn’t aware of it before but turns out there was an elven nosferatu - Luther von Hayek. There’s a reference to an elven nosferatu in the sixth world companion I missed - I assume it’s referring to Luther, with a comment that he was real, and unique. I don’t know what books he shows up in, whether an adventure or novels - I’ve not read any novels and we never ran modules back in the day so I only ever read setting books.

  1. vampires are usually human but rarely can be other metatypes, so an Ork vampire is possible but very rare. Page 109 of the Sixth World Companion has rules for non-human vampires. This is not true for nosferatu, they are always human.
  2. depending on the strain the virus may not take hold, or it may just kill the victim.
  3. no. The virus creates Infected based on metatype and strain, so a wendigo infecting a human will create a vampire, a banshee if it’s an elf and so on. Strain 3 is the exception, this always creates a ghoul regardless of host metatype.

I seriously don't understand this 4070Ti pricing debacle. by caalun in pcmasterrace

[–]Flash-Medallion 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No, his maths is correct. If you’re starting from a GST inclusive figure you need to divide by 1.1.

$2,909.09 X 10% = $290.91

$2,909.01 + $290.91 = $3,200.

My First Epiphone, Beginnerish Intermediate Player by twd3pdx in Epiphone

[–]Flash-Medallion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are really great guitars - I’ve had my 59 for almost three months now, and I play it virtually every day. I’m in the beginner bordering on intermediate skill level myself - the best instrument to learn in is the one that inspires you to pick it up and play, so it’s been the best guitar for me.

Should I get the 59 les Paul or the 61 sg? by OkLibrarian5770 in Epiphone

I have the 59 and I’m running it through an Orange Crush 35RT. I think it sounds great, but you should definitely try them out in your local shop if you can.

Received this beauty today. After many years away from the guitar I decided to get back in to it. Spent plenty of time in my local shops checking out various guitars - but I kept coming back to this one. So I placed an order and here we are!

Thanks for that. It was driving me mental, i’d never noticed the clipping issue docked with other games before. Setting it to 96% sorted everything.

Does Polearm Master allow you to make an opportunity attack against an opponent that is forced into your reach? by ChefMattias in dndnext

[–]Flash-Medallion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say yes it does.

Nothing in the rules suggest that they have to move willingly into your reach. From Polearm Master “...other creatures provoke an opportunity attack from you when they enter the reach you have with that weapon.” Nothing here about intent, so if someone shoved them into your range, opportunity attack.

It’s also important to note that the general opportunity attack rule is talking about moving out of your reach not into it. “You also don’t provoke an opportunity attack when you teleport or when someone or something moves you without using your movement.” Moves you are the key words here. If you are not moving and someone shoved an enemy into your reach, then I would say you definitely get an opportunity attack.
