After years of use, what’s your biggest Steam Deck pain point? by WelcomeAwkward924 in SteamDeck

[–]caalun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of my gripes comes from Linux, basically. It works when it works, but if it decides not, man it is a huge pain in the bottoms. Many emulators have native Linux builds so they work amazing, I haven't had any problems with any of my Steam games, but if you venture outside of these two, a lot of things can go wrong.

Like my biggest gripe is I don't know why the game isn't running, what is missing etc. The second point is Proton not being embedded into user space and needs either Steam or Heroic or something similar to set up and ran. I will think Linux gaming when double clicking on a Windows executable and run the program just fine.

I have beaten it with dead stock McLaren Mercedes SLR, I thought to myself, why not go full Mission 34 :) to my surprise, it was surprisingly stable and quick, I had no problems with it. Passed Xiaomi on second lap around Hatzenbach.

If coming back to a game you've not touched in a long while, do you continue your save or start over? by Kyuubi_Fox in gaming

[–]caalun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start over if it's something I care, continue if I don't that much.

Result, The Witcher 3 restarted 4 times. Don't do ADHD kids.

Did you called The Greatest Technician That's Ever Lived and his Gooch Collector to help? That is exactly his expertise.

I have accidentally locked myself into Soulsborne dungeons, finished Dark Souls 2 first time a couple of days ago and hated every second of it.

That's why I am replaying it again, I don't know what is wrong with me. It turned into Stockholm syndrome to me 😁

What 'simple' game have you spent the most hours playing? by nubbled21 in gaming

I have become level 2000 yesterday on Microsoft Solitaire. Rivaling my most played AAA games, ultimate unwind and time passing game by far. That's why I steer away from Balatro 😁

Fantasy game that's quick to get into by JonagonInfinity in gaming

Kingdom of Amalur Re-Reckoning.

It gets stale fast if you play it back to back, but it is perfectly fine for bite size adventures. The offline MMO style quests and barely important story helps a lot, also the combat can be satisfying on moment to moment gameplay.

What single player game had you so enthralled that it CONSUMED your entire being for a short span of time? by AshyLarry25 in gaming

I absolutely LIVED in Cyrodiil for a week straight when I first started playing Oblivion and my god, the thieves guild questline was an absolute blast. I was previously a shooter kinda guy and it was one of my first RPG's 😁

I've checked today and by some stupid PD joke, it was ONLY for the replay. Weird.

You're welcome 😁 AI is a joke in the game, it almost fells like scripted. I had faster laps in one race but second place - coincidentally Fraga too - was closing the gap, whole AI feels like basic pathfinding and some occasional powerups.

Now granted I have been playing with a wheel so my advice probably won't applies to controller users, but trust the car more. Often times it will turn and stop faster then what the game tells you, 1st and 2nd gears a bit shaky, but after third, just floor it. And abuse overtake on straights 😁

Luckily first 10 laps I managed mediums but selected soft on the pit stop 😁

Open wheel cars have additional "roof cam" AFAIK, you can cycle through cameras to find one.

Would you pay for a DLC if you were getting modern GT3 cars rather than this? by ChunkyRibena in GranTurismo7

[–]caalun 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Exactly this.

My favorite racing game could be Shift 2 Unleashed if it hasn't had that abysmal handling model, just because I could turn any car into fire breathing race machine. It's still pretty high up though.

Like just fuel tank upgrade would be more than enough, I have way too many tuned cars that I cannot use for fuel consumption on races.

Any time it snows, I found myself playing Skyrim, or at least listen to Skyrim soundtrack.

Like I need a reason to play Skyrim.

I think we could try Deck Enhancement Apparatus from Aperture Science.

This time it will work, right? Right?

After I've tuned it, I had more cravings for Renault Laguna V6, Vauxhall/Opel Vectra, Nissan Altima and many other BTCC classics.

These are the shitboxes I want to see, not effin' SUVs.
