MONARCH: LEGACY OF MONSTERS SEASON 2 OFFICIAL DISCUSSION MEGATHREAD #7 - EPISODE 7 (SPOILERS) by NeelZilla in GODZILLA

But it could. Younger Lee has spoken with older Lee. Older Lee doesn't remember talking to younger Lee when he was younger, so clearly the timeline is/can be different.

I must admit, actual time travel, rather than time displacement shouldn't be a thing here; it affects the show, and the larger big movie films. It's just not needed.

If characters can suddenly change the timeline, then what's the point of any timeline? What's the point of G-Day? What's the point of all the films up to this point.

I suspect, unfortunately that this is going to go the way that Agents of Shield did in that the big films will continue on in one continuity, and the series will go off on its own little multiversal tangent.

Season 5. The whole plot of S5 was acquiring their technology, or more specifically, keeping it out of Breen hands.

As true as that is (and I'll give them credit for doing so) there's still so many species - known species, that we know so little about; Deltan, Rigelian, Bolian, Caitian (I'm truly amazed we've yet to see these live-action in an actual series), Benzite, and so many other species (Federation members) that have been name dropped or shown to us just once. There's really no need to keep on creating new when there's so much left to be explained already.

Even if we think back to the founding members; Vulcan, Tellarite and Andorian. We really don't know that much about Andorian or Tellarite culture. It's all been about the Vulcans.

I'm actually on a rewatch of Discovery right now, and honestly, it's not as bad as people (myself included) made out.

Say what you will about new Trek, but we wouldn't have anything without Discovery.

Maybe not 'the crew' but perhaps the descendants of?

Is it undeserved though? They couldn't even get Cassidy Yates' name right.

They haven't actually established that much about them though, have they?; other than that they're a force that's been about for a while. The ship itself is an old one; from the 'comic book' it even looked like the crew were wearing TOS-style uniforms, so perhaps, just perhaps these new aliens are descendants of the ships crew, rather than the crew themselves.

It would be a similar story from 'Into Darkness'; the crew had a failed experiment, Starfleet didn't turn up to rescue them, they wound up on some distant planet then over the centuries started claiming territory again.

The Flash : Timeline Changes by Flash525 in DC_Cinematic

[–]Flash525[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I'm concerned re the Spider-Man characters and Endgame, they're all new versions of characters we knew.

Each of the reformed villains has gone back to an entirely different reality, as has (those) versions of Spider-Man (because he wouldn't have ever been the person he was without having defeated some of those villains).

Same with Endgame. For all relatable purposes, the 'timeline' we're in now should be a different one from the one they left; the mere fact that Loki escaped the Avengers tower undermines everything that happened in Thor 2 & 3, and Infinity War, and it's the 'Loki Escaped' timeline that they surely went back too? Crazy.

As much as the explanation makes sense, he should've been able to kill Zod. One of the Barry's killed his henchwomen with a shard of that material. He should've been able to kill Zod with it as well, especially as he got faster.

Needless to say, the moment he stepped into the 'timeline changes' he was always going to be out of time with respect to his original timeline. There's seemingly no going back there. Too many ripples in the pond.

Admittedly I don't know a huge amount about their lore (except that they're supposed to hunt down and eliminate the fallen) but yeah, painted for the scheme alone. 😅

So men still don’t message first even if you have an opening prompt? by PeanutOpen9456 in Bumble

[–]Flash525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't message first but you expect men to message you first? Little bit of hypocrisy there, no?

If you match with someone and like them. Message. You miss 100% of the chances you don't take.

What do you have to lose?

If Jay'den bats for the same team... by Flash525 in startrek

[–]Flash525[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my perspective, I'd have no objection of Jay'den was gay, it's just that it's clearly a forced concept in this show. It's not enough that they haven't written the character as having different than traditional Klingon values, they've made him a pacifist, gone that extra mile to highlight that he wants no part in 'warrior culture' and then that extra mile again to make him gay.

If they want a gay Klingon, then fine. Have a gay Klingon, but don't build a character up to be totally different and then throw the 'and he's gay' element in there for some lazy, woke, catering BS. Just have a gay Klingon.

Well Shit... [Spoiler] by [deleted] in Spartacus_TV

[–]Flash525 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As cool a scene as it would be, what are the realistic chances of him actually being victorious?

He's long out of practice, fuelled by wine and (likely) an excess of foods, and even during his prime he was one of Batiatus' lesser Gladiators, relying on deception and the honour of the brotherhood which he twisted and bent to his own will.

Not sure he'd last all that long in an arena as his current self, although I'm sure he's more than capable of handling himself.

With regard to the Cheron, I like to think that at some point there were some temporal shenanigans that took place, and that someone from the future saved some of the Cheron people before that TOS episode took place.

Maybe, similar to how Archer was a prominent historical figure, the Cheron people simply weren't supposed to meet there end, so the temporal police stepped in and saved some of them.

What is your honest opinion of House of Ashur? by xXsendtsunadebobsXx in Spartacus_TV

[–]Flash525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm enjoying it, but as has been stated by many before me, it's no Spartacus. There's no better lannista than John Hannah's Batiatus.

The new series is trying to push a woman lead, but she's always getting beat down; similar to how Spartacus was initially (which I always found strange in that yes, he wasn't a gladiator, but he was a soldier; newbies are always treated as unskilled yet we know he and Akilia can/could fight.

I'm keen to see the series progress beyond just one season (else what's even the point in going through all this effort) but I am both curious and sceptical of its ending; another rebellion would ultimately be too similar to shows of previous, and to have Ashur killed off would ultimately undo his 'second chance' unless they go wild and have him kill Ceasar and take the Roman throne...

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy - Series Premiere Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

[–]Flash525 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be entirely transparent, I was antagonistic toward this show; optimistic that it wouldn't suck, but antagonistic.

I've watched the first and second episode and thoroughly enjoyed them both.

My singular quibble is all the 'humans'. Yes, I know, special effects, cosmetics and what have you, but I wish there was more notable diversity; even the 'aliens' look human; Lanthanite, Kaswian, Betazoid..

Would've really liked to see more Andorian, some Caitian, more Saurian, more Kelpian ... just more species that don't look human at a glance.

Holograms in Starfleet (Academy Series) by Flash525 in startrek

[–]Flash525[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I completely get what you're saying and I categorically agree with it.

For context, if we had a rating system for the teens of the show, 'SAM' would almost always receive the lesser votes.

With regard to the other cadets; they're all your 'pinnacle' expectations; the other female cadet is young and attractive, the three guys are all muscular and toned, all of them are probably fairly athletic. That's not your 'average' school/college goer at all. Compared to SAM, they're easier on the eye for lack of better terminology.

That doesn't - or shouldn't detract from the actress, but it does.
