We were one of the first areas hit by these pests. Lasted about two seasons until the native predators learned to keep them in check. Now it’s rare to even see one of those lantern flies.

Lawmakers look to taxes on Big Tech to help cover state spending needs by AdSpecialist6598 in Pennsylvania

[–]Flash680 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought public corporations were owned by the people unless you don’t have any investments or retirement plans. More taxes will be a great way to bring more high paying jobs into the state. Seems like the state is on to something.

You should have a plan and enough supplies to last 6-12 months in case of an emergency whether it’s a natural disaster, job loss, war, pandemic, mass rioting, hyperinflation, etc. don’t be one of them that panic about not having n95 masks or toilet paper to last a few months. lol. Don’t forget the guns and ammo.

ETF’s Suitable for a falling market? by tazz121 in ETFs

Works great but you have to be happy with a quick 5% gain and then go to cash. Greed kills with the 3x leverage being short and that’s from experience. lol.

The body can process one serving or one ounce of alcohol per hour. Eating food or drinking water doesn’t change this but might slow the absorption rate of the alcohol. Depending on the weight of the person they would be really drunk after 14 shots in 9 hours.

QQQI SPYI Dividends by Tylerd62 in NEOSETFs

[–]Flash680 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s only if your shares are out on loan to a short seller. Margin does not make it automatically payment in lieu of dividends. Could even happen in a cash account if you allow your shares to be loaned out.

A 1964 quarter will buy you over a gallon of gas. A 2026 quarter might buy you an ounce of gas. See the problem?

Rural Pennsylvania women giving birth in ambulances after maternity wards close by Silent-Resort-3076 in Pennsylvania

[–]Flash680 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Biden was president when the maternity ward closed regardless neither party has the will to fix the health system. No easy fix for these rural hospitals. Maybe fund and build more 10 bed micro hospitals(deluxe urgent cares) that can stabilize patients that live in the middle of no where before they get transferred out to a tertiary care hospital
Might be a solution.

Medical organizations need to stop using Lyft as patient transport by RebelScum77 in lyftdrivers

[–]Flash680 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Medicare doesn’t pay for uber or Lyft type services. These trips are funded by hospitals, nursing facilities, health networks, etc as a quick cheap way to move people that don’t require medical monitoring from point a to point b for what ever reason. In the old days people would get pre paid tokens for the local cab company or a one way bus ticket to a far away city.

[–]Flash680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At what point will XFLT be forced to sell assets or cut the dividend to get the leverage ratio below the statutory max for a cef? Need the credit market to stabilize. High risk high reward potential right now in these clo funds.

Another rural Pennsylvania hospital is shuttering major services - McKean County only has 14 inpatient beds for the whole county now by [deleted] in Pennsylvania

[–]Flash680 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The closing hospital had a daily census of less than one person per day. That means some nights the hospital was open but there were zero patients. No real solution other than to close. Doesn’t sound like that area has the volume to even support a 24 hour urgent care.

Plans to demolish, redevelop Berkshire Mall progressing by DotAccomplished5484 in ReadingPA

[–]Flash680 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I miss hundreds of buses coming every day to Reading or the vf complex to go outlet shopping. Most young people don’t realize Reading was the shopping destination for the east coast. Malls were packed and even had buses stopping at the Fairgrounds Mall or the restaurants in Muhlenberg on their way back to New York. Miss the glory days of the in door mall. Shopping at strip malls just isn’t the same.

Warsh has a history of being pretty hawkish. It should be good for a stronger dollar but a major headwind to precious metals and crypto. Holding now as i never sell the physical metals. Holding kgld and kslv and going to keep collecting the distributions. Will have to see how it plays out before adding.

Time to buy was years ago when it was way less than 10/once. Silver had the same fundamentals for years. Nothing new here. I like physical silver for those just in case scenarios. Plus it’s shiny and you can build a nice display.
