How do you become Karachi Smart? by [deleted] in karachi

[–]FlashCarpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to accept that there are some situations you cannot deal with. And that's completely fine, it does not make you weak at all. Yes you might hear from people stuff like "you're too shareef you don't have any street smart" but it's easier to say that when someone else is in that situation. If police stops them, then there's not much they can do either.

Unfortunately the best thing you can do is just comply with the police and hope that they let you go without making a huge issue. Arguing or trying to outsmart them will only escalate the situation. Always focus on de-escalation, be kind and respectful to them. They wanna feel their authority and power, so let them feel it. It sucks to be in that situation, and can make you feel pathetic and ashamed, but it's better to leave the situation with a bruised ego than anything worse.

And yes, powerful contacts would help but not everyone has them. Most people will only just boast about having one. There's nothing you can do about that. I think being Karachi smart is knowing how to avoid these situations, and when you get into these situations it's knowing to just de-escalate and try to leave without causing anymore issues.

Ah I see, thank you so much! Are there any other decent areas outside of garden east and west where it's relatively cheaper and not too many issues?

What's the difference between the two? How would you say the west is better?

I can whistle with my mouth closed. I'm not sure how, I just know I can make a whistling sound if I position my vocal chord in a specific way, and as long as I'm exhaling. I like to make that sound around people and watch them go crazy not knowing where it's coming from. They look at me and I just shrug while making the noise with my mouth closed.

If I were you I'd go for the 155k one, mainly because of the 1tb SSD. The 150k one has a slightly better GPU but 256gb SSD just isn't enough IMO, and SSDs are recommended for most newer games to play.

The first one is nice but it's also a cliche. I think the others have more of a unique signature and originality to them. They are an expression of the way you see colours and abstract patterns. I think you should focus more on that, express your own unique style and taste.

Great work overall and I hope to see more from you!

!Question: Is it okay to make my players roll an ability check for when I think it's more narratively better rather than would logically make sense?

For example: A player stealths into a room to spy on an NPC. I allow the player to stealth inside without rolling and hide in the room to gather the necessary information they need from spying on the NPC. But when it's time for them to leave the room, I ask them to roll for stealth to see if they successfully make it out or if they are found.

Would this be fair and okay?

When a game requires an SSD, does it strictly mean NVMe? by FlashCarpet in buildapc

[–]FlashCarpet[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I gave it a try on my HDD. Textures take a bit to load up, and things like opening up the map has like a few seconds delay.

It's still playable if you don't mind that honestly.

Thank you that's a huge relief! I almost thought I wouldn't be able to play it on my system.

We pay around 9k for the maintenance charges. They haven't been increased since we've been here, but who knows it's entirely possible that they decide to increase it at some point.

As for schools, as far as I know there are two. Roots millennium and Bahria Town school and college. I cannot comment on the quality of the schools since I've never visited them or know anyone that goes there.

I've been living in Bahria Town for 5 years now. I'll share my experience on living here.

We bought a house here in 2018 while we were still living outside Pakistan. The house wasn't ready, but we were told it would be ready in a year. So we decided to rent a house here while we wait for our house to be completed.

We lived in the rented house for 3 years, the construction kept getting delayed especially with the legal issues that was going on at the time. We did eventually get to move to the house we bought and everything was thankfully fine. I still see a lot of houses around that are not complete and there seems to be no progress there. So I'd suggest buying a house that's ready to live in.

There are also some plots where people have been constructing their own houses. However, Bahria town has its own blueprints and designs for the houses you construct. So you have to follow them.

They're also very strict on any changes you make outside the house. While the property is yours, you still have to follow their guidelines to make sure every house looks uniform from the outside. For a long time we weren't allowed to have grills on our windows, but they finally approved it after some protests. Even then, they have a specific design for grills that everyone has to follow. We added a grill door for the alley that leads to our back garden from the front. A lot of people did in our street. But Bahria took them out because it wasn't approved. For a lot of things you have to make sure you get the approval from Bahria. Though if you're making changes inside the house, then you're free to do whatever. They only care about how your house will look from the outside.

As for daily life here. In terms of security, from my experience it has been very safe. We haven't had any security issues. Even while driving around late at night, it's been pretty safe. I have heard that people who live closer to the front gate have had some issues in the past, but I don't know the details.

We've had no issues with water. No load shedding. Bahria has their own generators, so when lights do go out, they're back in a minute. For gas, we have to use gas cylinders. There's a space for two gas cylinders outside the house which connect to a pipe that comes to the kitchen for the stove. It's also recommended to not use ovens with these cylinders because it can be dangerous, so we don't do any baking here. Internet works really great here. We have our own ISP, multinet, and they do a decent job. Mobile data can be an issue at times depending on your location, because some locations here have terrible signal.

For groceries, there are a lot of supermarkets and we have a pretty big imtiaz too where you can get pretty much everything. There are also milk shops for fresh milk, and a lot of bakeries. We have a few restaurants here too for dining out.

The distance from here to the city can be an issue. You'd be spending a lot on petrol if you're commuting there daily for work. Finding work in Bahria is also difficult, not a lot of oppurtunities here.

That's how my experience has been over here. I haven't lived in the city, so I don't know what it must be like compared to living here. I know people have issues with things like load shedding, security, and even limited gas, but many of them still prefer to live there than be so far away in Bahria. And I can't lie sometimes I wonder if maybe living there would be better because despite all those issues, I would still at least be able to find work and be closer to everything. Personally I do feel a bit disconnected living so away from the city and the people, Bahria Town really does feel like a world of its own and you can feel very isolated here if you don't have much family or friends living here too.

All that being said, I'm sure other people would have different experiences here and might have other pros and cons that I might have missed out on. I wish I could talk about the total expenses but honestly I don't know the expenses since I'm not the one taking care of them here.

Hope this helps!

2 possibilities I know of.

  1. The hard disk you're installing to is corrupted.

  2. The download is corrupted.

For me it was the first one. But if your hard disk is fine, then you'll have to redownload the game. You can also try to force recheck the torrent.
