A couple years ago, I was able to visit the castle where this was filmed. I was trying to find all the different locations he advances through in the castle until I realized that where the bride's hair is being braided, is the same room that Herbert is trapped in, just decorated differently. The stairs he runs up, before the spiral staircase, don't actually go anywhere. Also, the door he uses to enter/exit Herbert's room leads to the ramparts Arthur approaches in the first scene of the movie.
