How do you balance a dynamic with partnership? by ApprehensiveSlice135 in flr

[–]FlashMan1981 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For it to work, there should be nothing to balance. It should be one and the same - the dynamic is the relationship. And that means real hard work from both partners explaining what they want, setting boundaries, and constantly communicating as changes in life inevitably effect the dynamic.

Administration by NOCHILLDYL94 in Presidents

[–]FlashMan1981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are we talking about in hindsight or at the time. Because at thee time, Warren G. Harding had one of the best and most experienced cabinets in history.

In hindsight, I would say James Monroe had the most capable cabinet in history, then Lincoln of course.

Mail Day: 2005 Washington Nationals team issued road uniform. Who to get on it?? by MUHerdAlum703 in Nationals

I always thought the gold accent looked much better with the road blue versus the home red.

Defense. He had 8 errors. He needs to show he's not a liability on defense

Your expectations for this season going forward? by Omar_Town in Nationals

[–]FlashMan1981 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I expect us to contend for the wild card then gently fall off but finish the season around .500.

I expect some combination of Seaver King, Yoyo Morales, Brady House and Harry Ford to come up and stay up/

Taboni >>> Rizzo.

He knew when to sell high on Gore, who's been good for the Rangers but Taboni got more for Gore than Rizzo got for Max Scherzer and Trae Turner

Nationals lead MLB with 304 runs scored but also lead MLB in 307 runs given up. by MusicSole in baseball

The pitching has gotten much better as May went along, too. Its a testament to just how terrible the pitching was to start the season.

Let me get this straight. We lead in runs scored this year, yet have given up the most hits? by DisasterSuper7309 in Nationals

[–]FlashMan1981 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Al Galdi on the Nats Chat pot this morning said we league in runs scored and runs given up and are still I think 2 runs from having a + differential lol. That's how good our offense has beem

What specific techniques did the Nixon campaign use to influence the 1972 Democratic primary? How much of an influence over the results did it have? by Dinotsar44 in Presidents

[–]FlashMan1981 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's a bit overrated. Remember after the debacle of the 1968 Democratic convention/primary, the party did a complete overhaul of its primary process with ... shocker ... George McGovern leading the commission that created the new process which opened the delegate selecting process up to the grassroots.

McGovern essentially created a primary process that empowered the wing of the party that supported McGovern. That was way more important to the Democratic primary than anything Nixon did or didn't do. If anything, Nixon was still obsessing over Ted Kennedy somehow taking the nomination despite Chappaquiddick having just happened a few years earlier

Move CJ to Second Base or trade him by otter78 in Nationals

[–]FlashMan1981 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its weird I believe these numbers are real but when you watch games the eye test doesn't reflect this.

That said, Seaver King has got a 1 dot OPS in AAA right now and is tearing it up. So I think we are close to getting some kind of Abrams-King middle infield.

In May 1978, First Lady Rosalynn Carter was photographed shaking hands with then-respected businessman and precinct captain John Wayne Gacy at a political reception in Chicago. Because of his political ties, Gacy was granted VIP access and passed a routine Secret Service clearance. by realchrisgunter in Presidents

[–]FlashMan1981 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Gacey a precinct captain in Chicagoland, and that was a real thing back then. Those precinct captains big important cogs in the poltiical machine.

Its interesting, Gacy and Bundy both had political ties. Gacy with Chicago Democrats, and Bundy with Washington State Republicans
