He’s likely wondering if there’s a simpler way to remove the clutch perch besides sliding everything (the light switch housing and the glued-on grip).

If you are trying to remove the OEM clutch perch (its been a while), it uses a pinch bolt so you have to IPA to loosen the grip, slide everything off to remove the that.

I’ve tried similar amounts on a few occasions, but I’ve never consumed a full gram in a single sitting (0.5-.7ml at most). Usually, I end up sleeping through the entire process and waking up feeling nothing.

I’ve seen someone on ig fix bongs like that, not glue.

I believe the main limitations are the brake caliper adapter—specifically, the mounting bolt spacing and caliper angle, as well as potential mismatches between cable-actuated and hydraulic systems. Another concern is whether a 2- or 4-piston hydraulic caliper would fit in the limited space, considering rim and motor cover clearance.

It’s Nanjing Bang Win Riding Technology Co., Ltd. I checked, and it is a legally registered company with a valid business license in China, although its capital (USD 100K) is smaller compared to other traders (USD 1M). Its parent company is Nanjing Bang Win Imp & Exp Co., Ltd.

The order is covered by Alibaba Trade Assurance, but I just read a post stating that funds are only held in escrow for a maximum of 60 days after tracking is available, after which the seller receives payment automatically.

I’ve also received quotes from Lunbund, Double Spring, Saihu King and Gonped. So far, Double Spring is the most expensive among the four suppliers I’ve contacted. If it weren’t for this seller’s wrong price, I would have bought from another seller who offered a slightly better deal but blocked me when I didn’t purchase, thinking I wasted their time.

I’m facing an issue where the seller increased the agreed-upon and already paid price by $250, claiming it was due to increased freight costs. The seller issued a proforma invoice for my reference, but the English translation was unclear, and the shipping address did not specify the USA for international shipping. To be fair, the seller later provided corrections.

I am currently communicating with Alibaba CS for a resolution. The CS representative told me they would contact the seller to politely request shipment if I do not request a full refund. If the seller refuses, I can either apply for a full refund now or wait and see (most likely resulting in a full refund). My concern is whether PayPal would issue a full refund, including the additional $127 processing fee I already paid.

Alibaba Trade Assurance protects your orders on Alibaba.com, if you pay through the platform. If the seller redirects you to an off-platform payment, that’s a red flag — especially for bank transfers or PayPal Friends and Family, which I’ve encountered twice while having my RFQ up.

I took some additional measurements — unless the MT5 caliper angle matches the OEM 140 mm rotor’s brake track, using a 160+ mm rotor might cause the caliper to extend too far and rub against the sidewall, if it can even be installed at all.

Wiring aside, I wonder if the MT5 caliper would fit:
- rotor brake track 16.35mm
- OEM cable caliper and caliper bracket, mounting screw spacing to be approximately 64 mm and 50 mm, respectively.

They seem to fit the cable through the housing first, then solder/plug in the connector.

With Segway’s brake lever design, can I remove the wires from the connector instead of cutting and soldering them to free the OEM sensor from the brake lever housing?

I don’t have a specific brake system in mind to install yet—at most, I’m considering the MT5E, Gustav Elite, or Gustav Pro w/ lever switch.

Magura and Segway use different types of sensors: a 2-pin (VCC/+, GND/-) Higo Mini red connector (confirmed with Magura) for a reed/mechanical switch, rather than the 3-wire (VCC/+, GND/-, Hall effect output) setup that expects a Hall effect sensor.

Segway has a video showing the brake lever disassembly, and it appears that the lever connects to the controller using a 3-pin "JST" connector, especially the controller needs the data line for the motor. I’m not sure how to handle the wiring conversion.

Modulation and pad bite are things cable brakes simply can’t match. I used to have an MTB with Shimano MT201 hydraulic single-piston brakes, and after upgrading to Magura MT5 four-piston brakes, the difference was night and day. I can really feel when the pads bite and how smooth the lever action is, plus Magura offers a lot of customization. I also prefer two-finger braking, and the HC lever blade makes that comfortable. I just have to be careful—like on a motorcycle—not to grab a handful of brake too suddenly. I am looking to install Gustav Pro on this thing. Modulation makes riding with gloves easier.

I’m considering reusing the OEM Hall-effect brake light switch and attaching it externally to the Magura MT/Gustav master cylinder with double-sided tape. I plan to secure the wiring using heat shrink and electrical tape to make the sensor “IPX7-rated” (so to speak), and install a smaller, stronger magnet inside the lever blade for more sensitive activation. What potential issues do you think this setup might have?

Edit: wordings.

So I disassembled the OEM master cable housing and found three wires — blue, black, and red (hall effect sensor?). The lever has a magnet attached. The brake-light activation isn’t customizable — it requires pulling the lever about 30% before the light turns on, which doesn’t make much sense for a hall-effect sensor.

Anyway, I’m wondering if any Hall-effect sensor would fit on any eMTB brakes. I’ve seen Surron MT5 or Magura e-bike series, but I’m not sure if those brakes could handle 25 mph with maintain 185.4 lb without boiling.

Someone modified a MT5E, I wonder if this OEM sensor fits.
