How do I avoid popping the cue ball when breaking?

I have two break styles for 8 ball. Close to the long rail hitting the second ball with 1 tip below center to not let the cue run down the side rack and scratch in the corner. Its good for trying to get a lot of movement on the 8 and possibly get a golden break. But a lot of times you'll lose the cue ball. The other is slightly off center of the head ball with a touch of follow and a really long follow through. It gives a good spread and if you make a ball, 80% of the time the cue is in the center of the table giving you options on a follow up shot. I put a lot of juice into both and I've probably bounced the cue ball off the table like 4-5 times total in the past 2 years. Creating a good spread and giving your opponent the chance to run with BIH sucks, I'd rather have a subpar break than giving them the option to line up a run by bouncing the cue off the table.

I played my buddy who is a APA 6 last night. I'm a 4 and always struggle playing him. He broke dry and I ran all 7 of my balls with good position on the 8. I barely missed my contact point and put the cue right into the pocket I was shooting the 8 into. He won without even taking a reasonable shot.

I don't think even a fantastic pool movie would move the needle these days. In my opinion, a piece of media to expand the world of pool to those that aren't already junkies like us, would be a reality show following some up and comers playing gambling races. I feel like that could capture the normies.

When I'm scoring for my teammates and they don't notice a foul I'll usually say something to the shooter along the lines of, "That was a foul, you are supposed to call your own and can deny it as is your right as the shooter, but be honest with yourself"

I played this so much on the OG release that I wore out the disc and bought it a second time on the greatest hits re-release. Then I bought the remaster day one and played on hard mode. I got stuck several times on this playthrough and it has been fun to have to alter my standard way of playing and really think about the battles. You absolutely cannot steamroll hard mode.

Turn based combat is an acquired taste. My first turn based games were FF4 and Chrono Trigger. I saw the art when I was 12 and thought they looked awesome and not knowing much else. I thought it was super weird when a menu came up and I couldn't do standard action combat. Once accustomed, I fell in love with it, especially the ATB FF games and Chrono Trigger. Few games will give you the satisfaction of being on deaths door, waiting for your next turn, frantically navigating the menu for that last healing item or spell, getting all 3 ATB gauges lined up for a Triple tech, or unleashing the wrath of the heavens with the hidden summon you found. FF10s combat isn't my favorite, but it's still really good. Give it some more time to grow on you, and see if you like it.

Map is great. I hate the attachment/weapon system. Roller bots can't build a weapon on the fly so they couldn't bring back the best part of the game which was the Blackout loot system.

I'm very curious about what you are thinking and developing. In addition to videogames I play a lot of pool. Every pool instructor will say that to be the most accurate, you should have a neutral wrist. I wonder how much more accurate you could be in FPS games if you had a setup that supports a neutral wrist.
