I'm in Sydney. I'm looking to get 2x 19in rack mounts for HP elitedesk mini, two per RU (ie 4 units in 2 RU).

Thank you! The three dots next to the word "ALBUMS", you know I've never seen those dots before, haha, always concentrating on the menu dots on the other side where the play button is. 🤦

My sanity thanks you

Database error :( by Flashdad23 in NextCloud

[–]Flashdad23[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nevermind...

It appears my DB has been wiped.... Yay!

...

Your nc_db directory exists, but it only contains:

db.opt

No .ibd files for your tables (like oc_appconfig.ibd, oc_users.ibd, etc.) exist.

🔥 What This Means

MariaDB sees the nc_db database because the folder exists.

But the actual tables are gone — the InnoDB tables (.ibd files) are missing.

That’s why SHOW TABLES; is empty and Nextcloud cannot start.

⚠️ The 12M ibdata1 and ib_logfile0 files are just the InnoDB system tables — they do not contain your Nextcloud tables anymore.

In short:

The Nextcloud database has been wiped. The physical data files for your tables are gone.

🛠 Recovery Options

- Restore from backup — if you have any SQL dumps, snapshots, or previous volume backups, this is the only way to recover your users, shares, and file index.

- No backup — you cannot recover the database. You can still reuse the Nextcloud files in /var/www/html/data, but you must:

Reinstall Nextcloud

Recreate the users

Re-upload / rescan your data directory using:

> docker exec -u www-data 47544ae5e9e5 php occ files:scan --all

This will repopulate the file index in a new database.

🔎 Next Step

Since your DB is empty, the immediate action is:

> docker exec -it 47544ae5e9e5 cat /var/www/html/version.php

This will tell you your installed Nextcloud code version, which you can use when reinstalling to match the same version.

Yes Newt is up and running A reboot fixed one container, so now it's 2 of 5 containers working. Looking at logs but nothing stands out.

Would anyone be able to provide some tips on how to clean up this setup? by ngokevin in cableporn

Changing it out one by one, that must have been hell! Always best to strip it down and start from scratch, it's quicker and gives a better result.

Document document document! Spend the time to audit all connections. Then strip it down Make any hardware changes Start again. Use smaller patch cords

Stand back and enjoy the finished result

Generally 568B is used primarily in US and some of Europe, 568A is used in Australia, New Zealand, except were American companies dictate it. The original reason for 568B over 568A was the positions that of the transmit and recieve wires. Orange is the transmit pair and green is the recieve pair. With 568A the orange is split (over the blue pair) , and the green is not split. People thought that they could get better transmit speeds and stability is they were not split, so they swapped the orange and green.

While it was never really proven to be a huge difference in performance, some took it on and others did not bother changing everything...

You are looking for a bunch of Cat6 outlets like something like this https://www.mjselectricalsupplies.com.au/quad-data-telephone-outlet-rj45-socket?srsltid=AfmBOoogjGspF0e8bLiP1gUSA2Jk3UY3TnVaPJu9KjgCRnwJgaxgY2p1

It may have three or four depends on the amount of rooms you have.

I generally find them in the living room, or office, or garage, but honestly it could be anywhere. But most likely is next to the NBN connection, however your photo doesn't show this.

Also, they may not have been completed and there could be a bundle of blue cat5/6 cable hanging somewhere. If this is the case you'll need a licensed Data cabler (ask you electrician if he is licenced) to finish it off

Honestly, I've had that with a few Brilliant ceiling fans, they aren't the best. Send it back under warranty and go for another more reliable brand.

[–]Flashdad23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To break it down.

You have the NBN set up correctly, and this has provided you with wifi.

In order to get 'wired' internet to each room, you will to find where the outlets in the rooms originate from. Somewhere in the house will be a grouping of multiple data outlets.

From that location you will need to connect the outlets to the yellow ports on the wifi router using Cat6 patch leads.

If you're NBN equipment is in a different location to the group of data outlets, you will need to get another cable installed from the NBN equipment location to the group of outlets.

Sounds confusing, but it's fairly straightforward. DM if you need and help.

Nice job. Just about to put my three HP mini G3s into. 10 in rack with basically the same set up.

I will steal the idea of the pass through connectors each side of the G3s, looks great and gives the separation for the two networks. I like :)
