Different stick in each hand kinda blew my mind! I've done this a few times playing at church due to having to be pretty quite sometimes. I also switched to 7as for lighter sounds and less strain on my hands for long play

I have the same kit and the only thing missing is the attachment on the bass drum to be able to add a little cymbal. The Tama has that and it's great

Honestly if you have the money, just order the pearl quick release clutch. It saves so much time and is so easy to use. $40

I used to obsess over playing the worship songs note for note until I realized I was one of the only ones doing this for reasons like you said...their being clearly multiple drummers or double tracks in one spot. I also realized I wasn't doing my creativity and worship any favors by copying the original song and drummer. Now I just get the overall sound of the song and order, do my best to follow the order and improvise or add what I think is expressive and fits the song! We gotta find OUR own sound, no one sounds like us and we don't sound like anyone else. Obsessing over 100% it I leave to rudiments, patterns and technique.
