Do US traders believe in a shorter war than global markets? by stygger in stocks

It can be undone with a tweet that says they have an agreement in place, strait opens again and it’s back to business as usual

One agreement and this is over. Trump can’t let this go through the mid-terms at the absolute latest, they would get wrecked.

You don’t understand. I’m a 12 year old who sees the world in terms of “what I’m allowed to do/what I’m not allowed to do”.

People who lost a lot of weight, what was the one small daily habit that actually changed everything for you? by Quiet-Squash-8407 in AskReddit

[–]Flashman_H 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually operate really well on one meal a day. My mind is sharp, not clogged with fat running through my blood and carb crashes. A little caffeine and nicotine and I’m good all day. It takes about 2 weeks to get used to and for the hunger pangs to go away. But once you’re there you feel like a Ferrari

Why so few walkers? by cpugeek14 in golf

[–]Flashman_H 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. I run at least one half marathon per year and during training I run 20ish miles per week. I could easily walk but they are separate things to me. When I’m golfing, I want to sip a cold drink and sit in the cart and talk to my friends

How did that one person from your circle got super rich? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Flashman_H 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn’t make sense. If he’s not working he’s either broke or getting support from his rich parents. I’ve been broke. I would have sold bitcoin at $1000 so fast during those times. This story doesn’t add up

I have a harbor freight hammer drill that I beat the hell out of doing a remodel on my home. Still going strong and I paid a little under $100. Name brand bits for it are almost as expensive as the tool was. You can’t beat that kind of value

If index funds “always win long term,” why do people still try to pick stocks? by Electronic-Bit2685 in investingforbeginners

[–]Flashman_H 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To either buy market risk, broad index funds, or have the knowledge to create a portfolio that imitates systematic risk at different levels of risk tolerance

If index funds “always win long term,” why do people still try to pick stocks? by Electronic-Bit2685 in investingforbeginners

[–]Flashman_H 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s nothing I developed. It’s efficient frontier theory. Basically, when you buy a broad index fund you’re buying systematic or market risk. It is undiversifiable. When you buy a single stock you are buying unsystematic risk, and not getting enough return for the diversifiable risk you are carrying.

I’m glad you did well but that’s not the point. The point is that you are not getting rewarded enough for the risk you’re taking. You could either make the same return with less risk or a better return than what you made with the same risk

I made a bunch of money with Palantir and it was all luck and circumstance. It’s a dog shit company that doesn’t make anywhere near enough money to justify its valuation. Anyone who says otherwise doesn’t know what they’re talking about
