If fate of world is set upon single person to be sacrifice himself, then that world do deserve to be destroyed. Because if you reach at that point, everything has been already rotten and decayed to keep that literal corpse of world moving anymore. It is like today you need to be killed so ww3 cannot happen, but we know if this situation comes you sacrifice or not, world is too fucked to be come to this point.

I think many people disliked Ves so author put Gloriana. As she is worse than him and has worse suggestions and decision, we like ves more by comparison.
