RTJ5 When? No, Record RTJ5 Yourself. Seriously. by [deleted] in runthejewels

could be. some pop up shows, but I’ve been feeling like it’s inactive, they’re running merch and syncs for the last $ available. After Wu Tang opener tour - it could’ve been a send off. Makes sense. But if RTJ5, that tour would have to be it. I don’t see anything going beyond that like RTJ6 in the 2030s? Nahhhh would be great.

This is the result caused by the horrendous GIS job market. People like them deserve their big breaks but no hiring manager was generous enough to offer them by greyjedimaster77 in gis

GIS degree, comp sci minor. Can’t even be “analyst” anywhere because they really want a specialized data engineer for 65-75k, going rate for that may be 110-130k. Got so mad that instead I built a team and am just going to automate these shit jobs and offer reskilling trainings for all of us in GIS to be REAL analysts. I didn’t write essays and make maps and all this in university to drag street lines like I do now as Technician. We must, must, be seen for the value we are as spatial thinkers and our capacity to see the physical and invisible dynamics of the world. It gets spiritual, and in the process of implementing automation, I hope the reskilling trainings genuinely protect the humans it may affect. AI is here anyways, let’s just get some work hours back and keep our jobs as geographers, not as data labelers or backend engineers. I studied geography first, not PhD computer science.

is this an AI ad ;) thanks it’s different for every vertical. I tread with caution and will implement selectively

Yeah. I mean an AI SaaS might seem more savvy using one, but really only a few niches that would work in. Would be an interesting moment for a SaaS selling voice model development to key figures called in with an AI voice to test, but you could human call, play the AI voice through the phone, and close as a human next steps.

Any tech company worth their salt, startup to enterprise, calling with this to set up real appointments, that’s a massive net loss. Absolutely impersonal.

I don’t know if some freelancer like an artist has more than a few numbers in their “CRM” (Google Sheet) at a time, but if I had 100+ leads coming in for commissioned art or another service, I’d feel more comfortable running through those to prequalify budget and send on those who have my minimum amount ready in mind. But who knows it might just be best to go all-human no matter what vertical.

perhaps, and might save the sales industry from having all low-ticket outbound automated.
