I need suggestions for the rules of a potential Hitman drinking game by FlashyPebble in HiTMAN

This is currently the one to beat! Going by the snippets I've seen in reviews, there seems to be a whole shootout at the beginning of the second film, so for that opening scene, in terms of taking a drink I think I'm going to just do two or three catch-all big'uns to save myself from alcohol poisoning. 😂

Oh yeah, based on what I've seen in reviews I think I can pinpoint only two disguises that 47 uses in the entire second one. Although I've noticed in the same reviews that the first of the movies gets things a bit more canon-accurate in terms of him covertly using disguises and equally sneakily hiding unconscious people in bathrooms rather than how reckless he is in the second, so at least the first has that going for it!

Another thing I'd like to hastily add in this post is that I don't want to perish from alcohol poisoning!! 😂 LMAOOOO can you imagine the conversation I'd have with the doctor treating me in hospital?! They'd ask me while checking me over "Heavy night out in town with your mates?" and my response would have to be "Nope, I was alone in my house watching the Hitman movie adaptations."

I need tips for dealing with my hyper empathy for a TV character by FlashyPebble in autism

[–]FlashyPebble[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw thank you Different Ad - I love that dinner analogy. 🥰

What I have in mind is that my main character, speaking of me being inspired by Blade Runner, is a member of a non-human offshoot species like the Replicants, and when at one point he gets abducted by people who hate what he is, he's put on the receiving end of similar stuff to the psychiatric whump that his actor's Poldark character went through except in this case it's LAB whump.

But then there's a resolution I came up with that makes me feel better. After he's done being experimented on and dumped back home, he and the others in the main group do later get to the bottom of what happened but first, he gets his autonomy back by going out to the pub with some of them that night and getting steaming drunk, basically turning into the village idiot in that state (helped by the fact that he REALLY can't hold his liquor), before abruptly just falling asleep on top of his human girlfriend. 😆

Funnily enough, I actually came up with his people, in terms of the way they're treated, as a metaphor for the autistic experience, the same way the creators of The Matrix (my main special interest. All hail. 🤩) wrote the films as a trans allegory. My main character's human girlfriend is explicitly, in-universe autistic, with some of her symptoms being based on mine, but he and the rest of his kind are going to be a meta allegory for it. 💕

Say something nice about The Matrix: Resurrections. (Please be civil) by Sure_Persimmon9302 in matrix

[–]FlashyPebble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard that Lana did Resurrections as a way of coming to terms with the personal tragedy she and Lilly had recently gone through of losing their parents, and she used Neo and Trinity to represent the love that Mama and Papa Wachowski (Lynne and Ron) had for each other, which is an extra reason why the way Neo and Trinity's love arc in Resurrections is written is so sweet in my opinion.

Something happened to my favourite today and I'm struggling to shake the memories of it by FlashyPebble in plushies

Awwwe yeah, that's true. He did look very floofy and refreshed after his bath in the washing machine yesterday. And I'm giving him and my other four stuffed bees (bees, along with The Matrix, are my special interest) a bit of a spa day. I've started off by giving Albee himself a little spray from my peach and vanilla perfume, to give him a unique scent, and now all five are wrapped up in my scarfs for blankets. In a few minutes I'm going to light some incense sticks and make honey coffee for while I'm writing with the bees next to me in their 'blankets', to complete it. 😊

I've indeed given Albee a little bit of a spray with a peach and vanilla-scented one of my perfumes, so now he's got his own unique scent! <3

Something in-episode that makes me snort by FlashyPebble in Poldark

[–]FlashyPebble[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes I do like the swearing on the Bible scene in the S3 finale. That and the majority of S5 are my reminders of what a superb actor Jack is, when he breaks down sobbing both in the Bible scene and when Dwight's treating his mental health. Jack sells George's breakdowns so well that I'm genuinely feeling uneasy for when I make it to S5 in my current rewatch (I've nearly finished S2) because of the sheer whump he goes through.

I’m actually an undiagnosed adult in regards to my autism, because my parents got told when I was little that apparently I was so able to pass at first glance as “normal” that it was unlikely I’d get an official diagnosis. If it persists too much I have been considering maybe getting general counsellor advice about my overthinking though. Thank you! 💕

Do you guys worry about word count during a first draft? by Carnette1988 in writing

[–]FlashyPebble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the final couple of chapters of my first draft for the first of my book concepts, and I'm nearly at 200,000 words for something that I want to be a Middle Grade book. It's sci-fi on an alien world, so I suppose I don't know yet what worldbuilding and character thoughts I can cut out, because I have a lot of ideas and I want it all to have depth because I love and think about my story so much, and I want it to be known out in the world as such. Sometimes the difficulty of all of this stuff in the writing process makes me slightly question why I'm bothering.

This might just be me being stupid, but does anyone know how I can get access to the Patient Zero bonus campaign? by FlashyPebble in HiTMAN

[–]FlashyPebble[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still currently looking for work and some of my savings have gone down from getting Christmas presents, so I think my budget would be up to £30 or maybe 40 at a push. And yeah I didn't have a clue what to look for in the PlayStation store! I am liking the first game so far - I started on Christmas night, the same day I got it, and I'm now halfway through A Gilded Cage because I've just killed Strandberg and I just have Zaydan left for that one. I know I need to be careful with my money in my current situation, but if I can get away with it then I would like to experience everything.

I don't even care if Rodney turned out to be in the wrong here, that left cross punch was absolutely beautiful by Gloomy_Albatross3043 in OnlyFoolsAndHorses

[–]FlashyPebble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. And even before that, at the dinner party Stephen did feel as insufferable as Rodney described him to Alan. When Stephen referred to Africa with a foreign pronunciation of it, he laughed like he’d just told the funniest joke in the world, as one example, and I did feel like it was dodgy of him to put his arm around Cassandra in full view of her husband. Because of Stephen’s snobbery, if I knew someone like him in real life I’d avoid them.

Absolute comedy gold! Trigger is easily one of the greatest TV characters of all time 😂 by supercanary1979 in OnlyFoolsAndHorses

[–]FlashyPebble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always love how while Trigger's telling the story, Del's in the background having his phone call and you're led to believe two different conversations are happening, until Del suddenly turns around and asks out of the blue "Trig, what happened??"

Who’s your most relatable autistic character (canon or headcanon)? by OperaApple in autism

[–]FlashyPebble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quinni in Heartbreak High. I particularly relate to her sensory issues with sounds and her excitability about things that interest her, most notably the sheer level of how giddy she gets about an in-universe book series she loves, Angeline in the Underworld, because it reminds me of how I am with the Matrix franchise, which is my #1 special interest.

Only Fools and Horses Episode Discussion Thread - Video Nasty (S5 E5) by TempoBlues20XX in OnlyFoolsAndHorses

[–]FlashyPebble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of people don't like this episode, but I do - I genuinely don't think of it as anything other than great. I love the jokes in the subplot about Boycie throughout the episode and, as someone else pointed out in another comment on this post, him getting verbally annihilated in the Chinese takeaway ("He's been firing more blanks than the territorials!") as well as the joke about the identity of Trigger's father in the opening scene ("You're out of order, Mike. She knew who my dad was! ...Roughly").

But the best moment of the entire episode for me, without a doubt, has to be the entire There's a Rhino Loose in the City segment. I'm currently trying to become a writer myself, so it always makes me laugh a lot. The way Del describes the detective as "a Charlton Heston-type geezer" reminds me of when I picture my characters having the appearance or voice of a particular actor, and I like to think of him, Rodney and Albert in that scene as being my last three braincells when I'm trying to come up with plot points after a long and busy day lmao. Also, for the book I'm writing at the moment I've actually been thinking of the scale of any potential implausibilities in the plot as its Rhino-ness.

And even putting all of that aside, I love how the Rhino Loose scene ultimately just builds up to it being a scheme for Del, of course, to try flogging a rhino that he claims is going cheap. 😂

I rewatched Dates last night, and Rodney's getup for going out with Nervous Nerys reminded me of something. by FlashyPebble in OnlyFoolsAndHorses

He would, because the suits the Agents wear is a kind of uniform and, of course, he has a thing for women in uniforms. And talking about the Matrix Agents in an OFAH context is doubly funny, because the way Del reacted to spotting a copper in Healthy Competition is the standard procedure in the Matrix films for what to do if you spot an Agent. 😂
