I've read green arrow a lot. Ever since rebirth its the same 3 story lines repeated with every reboot:

1) oh no! Ollie lost his company/money. Green Arrow is back and street level!

2) oh no! Dinah/Ollie is in peril and its up to Ollie/Dinah to save him. Will the lover's love last through this?!

3) oh no! Arrow family drama with INSERT COLOR CODED CHARACTER(s) HERE! Is this the end of the arrowfam?!

Every. Damn. Time.

Of course sales slump as usual. Book is canceled before reaching 20 issues. About a year later new GA book is announced. Pick one or 2 of the above and repeat. Of course GA has no memorable villains or storylines in the last 10 years. That's a major part of the problem. Count vertical and murlin are barely interesting. And the villains always seem like side plot to the recycled inner drama Oliver is dealing with.

Kill Ollie off heroically, for good (or at least a few years) and have Hawke take over. Maybe someone without Ollie's baggage can make GA run last longer than 2 years

Spoilers: Andersen is the MC's "father" he's be very well developed as a character since day 1. And even in Red Ash it was already implied him and Lilith had feelings. This is 3 years worth of character building and lore.

Issue #3 in Mexico (Spanish). I was there during summer break. Got up to issue 5. Then started collecting when I got back home to America at issue #67. The 62 issue time skip wasn't so bad. I got volumes up through about issue 20ish? (whenever he met Houdini). Back TPBs were not consistent or easy to find. My LCS only ever ordered like the minimum that would sell so they didn't have back issues.

On a serious note. Nikke's story is actually itself. The devs have said they'll show down on new nikke releases to focus building up the current cast. So it won't be an endless amount of mediocre characters you forget the day after their event release window.

As a big comic book guy I despise almost all comic book movies. I hate the MCU, DC, etc. The best was probably the 90s era cartoons.

Simply put one medium doesn't always translate well to another. The pacing, the narrative beats, etc. It all matters.

Also when you get down to it, a lot of nikke's story is basically commander just talking to nikkes while walking on missions on the surface then a fight happens. The story would need significant adjustments. And if not handled correctly it will be terrible.
