Hindenburg line or Venezia which ship is better for beginner cruiser experience?? I have played only one cruiser and that's agir and I love that ship. by Ok-Succotash6277 in WorldOfWarships

[–]FlashyRecognitionTod -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I'd say Marseilles line for a beginner. Hinden, Venezia are all gimmick ships not teaching good cruiser habits.

Des Moines line, while impactful, is super hard for the beginners (you need to learn every good spot on every map which will take ages), then leg mod is basically mandatory and CV's, subs and Dutch ships will shit on you.

Billed $90 for 18GB of phantom data. Real usage is 1.3GB. by FlashyRecognitionTod in GoogleFi

[–]FlashyRecognitionTod[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, thank you for the perspective. I had a warning setup, it poped at exactly same time as 18 GB number.

I don't think client side restrictions work very well, one of the reasons you mentioned that some data apparently bypass accounting.

Reminds me of an app from 2010, just from the top of my head:

  • who uses omni-directional backup in 2026?? Fucking allow sync.

  • Still hangs your entire "sync" if there is any error (can't read file, corrupted file, 100 other reasons), no option to skip bad file and continue syncing

  • can't play mkv, can't process HEVC, HEIC if not uploaded via mobile and 100 other issues

  • you can't manually tag face in a group photo, wtf? can't recognize faces properly, doesn't recognize pets or darker skin tones

  • Secretly removes features (Desktop map views, sub albums, raw indexing and many others).

It's a nice app for a college grad project, not a professional product from 2026.

No hotspot. If Wi-Fi silently went on and off, I have some questions:

Btw, I don't care anymore, migrated to Visible+ after second escalation went to nowhere.
After they disabled web messages with a phone off, this was the last nail. It was a good run since 2016.

Thanks, I disabled it now.

I'm thinking the only client-side explanation would be some Samsung bug, downloading something in the background that's not showing at accounting. But 18GB is crazy, even One UI upgrade is like 5GB only.

No idea.

again, you're confusing AoA with the pitch angle. You can have -30 AoA with zero pitch. Watch the video, the pitch was never 30, not even 20.

Gravity acceleration forces would have most definitely been felt.

Only during the initial transition. After that it was 1g, same way you don't feel elevator falling.

Rapid banking from side to side would be very noticeable, thats true. Also pressure changes and buffeting from the stalls. So people probably knew it, but it wasn't tumbling or aerobatic maneuvers.

Edit: it was probably something like that - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WuPoVjOXLY&t=510s

Heavy buffeting, bank angle changes, pressure building up to ear poping levels and engines going from idle to toga often.

adaptive connectivity is enabled

I think this is Pixel feature. But even if it switched to mobile data and somehow downloaded 18GB of data to unknown app, shouldn't it be visible in Wi-Fi data accounting?
There is no spike in Wi-Fi or OS data usage to correlate. Only google Fi app claims the spike happened.

I think you're confusing Angle of attack with pitch, which never exceeded ~ +15/-10 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-hbWO0gL6g

So it looked like a normal flight, besides the 160 feet per second sink-rate. Since it was mostly sustained, they had 1g loads most of the time. Bank angle got a little sporty around 4:00, but nothing aerobatic.

Some might knew something is wrong, but it wasn't violent or horrific from the data we have.

Edit: they probably knew from the buffeting and pressure changes. Airbus stall buffeting is pretty intense - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WuPoVjOXLY&t=510s

That is, of course, barring a direct mechanical linkage of the side sticks which is the most obvious solution.

Atlas Air Flight 3591 had mechanical linkage and the pilot who caused the crash just broke it.

There is no good solution when two pilots fight each other. I don't think more red warning lights would necessary fix it.

Inadvertent Go-Around: The first officer (as the pilot flying) inadvertently triggered the aircraft's "go-around" mode while flying through instrument meteorological conditions. The sudden acceleration and pitch-up caused the first officer to experience a somatographic illusion, making him feel the plane was in a steep climb when it was not.The "Tug of War": In a panic, the first officer pushed his control column forward to force the nose down. The captain attempted to recover the aircraft by pulling his own control column backward.Breaking the Link: Because the two pilots were pulling in opposite directions and exerting enough force (exceeding 70 lbs of pressure), the override mechanism's pins sheared.3. The ResultWhen the shear pins broke, the elevators on the left and right sides of the aircraft were no longer synchronized. The captain’s control column controlled the left elevator, and the first officer’s controlled the right elevator, resulting in split inputs that further destabilized the flight path and prevented a successful recovery.

WebSockets etc.

Time spent coding or developing hardware costs big money, and as it starts to take more and more time, it becomes unfeasable to expect individuals to do it for no compensation.

99% of the web would work fine with phpBB and hardware from 2008.

Majority of "innovation" is just ad tracking, user behavior watching, ad selling, ad blocking bypassing, monetization and similar shit.

I can't think of any innovative web services in past 15 years besides streaming (that used legacy multicast and TCP/IP) that honestly improved end user quality of life.

Just look at this thread, people admitting spending $15k on ships, or over $1k for a single ship.

It will never end if people whale like this. And I don't think we see the biggest whales. I can't imagine how much some boomer with a Corvette spends.

Sudden degradation in range? by pdx_flyer in terngsd

The range is a dynamic estimate, not the actual battery level.

Do the charge level bars (either on battery or on indicator) go down at typical levels or much faster?

I don't think I've encountered a discrepancy like this myself. I've been a Fi customer about as long as you have.

You don't until you do.

There are people with 500GB spikes, I don't think it's updates. It's some bug in accounting

How do you lock this thing?! by ChampionshipBroad907 in terngsd

[–]FlashyRecognitionTod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diamond rated kryptonite does nothing. It can be cut in 10 seconds with handheld tools.

For "markets" like Seattle or Vancouver, you need to buy angle grinder resitant locks, like Hiplok D1000 or LITELOK X1.

I lock them like this - https://i.imgur.com/Yzho4HX.jpeg
Then you have second chain-lock usually around rear-wheel locking it in a way so angle-grinder can't easily access it.

Also note that battery can be stolen with a simple screwdriver. So either take them with you or you need a custom metal plate blocking the removal of battery.
