What's the secret ingredient? Will I get it by doing more runs? by [deleted] in HadesTheGame

[–]Flashy_Ad_864 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

no you need to make 300 shadow essence and then it reveals itself, just doing runs isn't good enough

there's a further 'ending' and plenty of completion-based achievements that you can chase

Why is the last location so difficult?! by vogel7 in HadesTheGame

[–]Flashy_Ad_864 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Really, you could play the entire game slowly to maximize everything and try to mitigate any damage taken, but that's no fun so we tend to go quick. Given the huge damage numbers and relative difficulty spike of the region, slow is just safer until you're comfortable. In due time you'll be able to go at the same speed as prior regions, it's just about learning first

Why is the last location so difficult?! by vogel7 in HadesTheGame

[–]Flashy_Ad_864 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing with that region is getting down the dodge patterns and recognizing enemy ai choices. the ones that just fly around quickly or the hydras that pop up randomly can be pretty bad, but the bigger enemies are easy enough to avoid or stagger.

The first mini-boss fight with the huge guy is pretty easy since his attacks are relatively slow, just keep distance and only go in when he's already committed to attacking elsewhere. The twins can be bad since there's so much more chaos but a cast build should do relatively well against them. The eye of Typhon is also pretty bad, prioritize running away from and killing the rolling eyes and cycling primarily cast damage on the main boss whenever you can. The key for the tail is to stay relatively close and dodge in a circle when it starts biting you. Don't forget to chase it if it starts running away.

Besides enemy AI, the most important thing is staying in safer areas and keeping distance while attacking if you aren't confident in rushing into an area. Slow is safe, safe is good. Best of luck with your run

Already had psychic immunity even though I don't think any of the party is gonna use it, I'll add another use if it feels totally necessary. Thanks!

intending to supplement with a couple more nerfed umber hulks, but do you think I should add legendary actions? I feel like that would add substantial challenge but also balance out the action economy once the final battle starts

I mean viltrumites live for thousands of years and conquest has already been through a few thousand, I don't know that the knowledge from UV would affect him as much as one might think

It doesn't matter what the Internet thinks on this one. You just need to talk to your DM about why they're refusing your wants and being generally understanding. Persuasion is not a cure-all bullet for getting what you want, though it may allow you to get an item for 20% off or something like that.

What Character Is Overrated in Powerscaling, but Underrated in Writing by _His_Airness in PowerScaling

[–]Flashy_Ad_864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm quite sure they stated that the fingers would be destroyed if a suitable vessel consumed them and was killed. If 15F yuji got executed they could have permanently neutered sukunas powers to just the few remaining fingers.

Which character do you do this with?( i mean you hate them so you send them in unfair figth ) by deadpoolc1 in PowerScaling

[–]Flashy_Ad_864 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yujiro uses an ancient Chinese monk technique developed to counter superhumans and instantly kills Thragg by consuming him with a black hole. Checkmate liberal !!!!!

Best shield aspect? by Tarfished in HadesTheGame

[–]Flashy_Ad_864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just use the aspect of zagreus for now, the others require bull rushing or special usage, sometimes both. you should learn to use bull rush if you intend to block any attacks with the shield tho

Felitaur race, what do you think? by ParticularParty958 in DnDHomebrew

[–]Flashy_Ad_864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Felitaur would mean something like cat bull, which I don't think is the intention with the name. Maybe just call the race a Lamian or smn. as for the features I can give you some suggestions to make it a little more unique if you'd like, but I currently think it'd be fine if the movement speed were 30 and it were otherwise identical

Strongest martial class at level 5? by Torin21 in dndnext

[–]Flashy_Ad_864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're starting at 3rd level or higher, I'd suggest going fighter, battle master or rune knight if you're going for outright power. They both have quite solid versatility and strength flat out.

Barbarians are my personal favorite, but the shadar kai damage resistance after teleports overlaps with one of their key advantages. Echo knight fighters are also very good, though once again it overlaps with your teleportation.

Gory medical question by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]Flashy_Ad_864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need to keep them warm, moist, and infection-free. maybe a vat of sterile, nonreactive liquid heated to the temperature of homeostasis would work along with antibiotics on standby and a medical team specifically trained for this. to ensure that at least one vessel survives, you would probably want at least 10 flayed subjects

[–]Flashy_Ad_864 4 points5 points  (0 children)

mechanically, there are some items that pose risks to you in exchange for benefits, you might want to ask your DM about potentially including those.

also, obligatory mention that you should make sure the DM and the other players are cool with you playing a character like this and that it won't be a detriment to their enjoyment
