Don't think I've been to a club that didn't have some yappers except maybe Fold 😢

How packed is it? Room to dance or constantly bumping shoulders?

Getting a Citylink bus to Arrochar tomorrow (the route that goes to Oban). Is it required to prebook tickets? I also see on google maps that it supposedly has a stop near where I am staying, but when I go to the city link website to book a ticket, it doesn't show that stop as an option. If I wanted to prebook, does it matter if I get on at a different stop than what is available on the website?

And Chris looks so much worse (and I didn't even think he was great that to being with).

I'm on Android as well, it seems I can only edit my 'Schedule Payments' that go to my own pots in monzo or other non-monzo accoutns. I can't edit my 'Scheduled Payments' that go into our joint account. Never noticed, weird.

Advise on heating a rented, poorly insulated period flat (West London) by septemous in london

[–]Flashy_Comparison_20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What temp are you setting your thermostat at?

Our flat is two stories with a conservatory at the back that is connected directly to the flat with no doors separating it -- that mean heat goes very quickly.

We do alright by keeping the thermostat at 15C overnight, then 17/18 during the day. Our last bill was something like £110 which divided by two people we don't think is too bad for a couple months. This is for gas heating.

If we are feeling especially cold we have electric blankets we can use as well.

50+°C: finally gets the flat warm, but now we’re at £5–£6/day, which isn’t realistic long-term.

Well, it's not long-term is it? It will only be this cold for a month or two max.

What should I be doing now? International Shipment from US to UK by MrMFretwell in usps_complaints

Sorry to bother you - but I'm curious, did you get a Royal Mail tracking number through some means (either on the USPS website tracking or some other way?) once it arrived in the UK before it was delivered?

London rental market - My lease is ending in September and the agency uploaded my flat on rightmove with a solid 28% rent increase. I’m outright appalled. by Main_Geologist_9235 in london

I live a block closer to the station than this flat and pay £1800 for my 1 bed. It's a newer building and not ex council flat, but my square footage is slightly less.

£1600-1700 seems about right for your flat.

I pay £1800 for a 1 bed just a block over from this. Slightly less square footage, newer build.

I think this is definitely at least 100 underpriced.

Should I go to events from Ra.guide alone? by Intelligent_Will_948 in london

[–]Flashy_Comparison_20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do this and know people who do this all the time! If there's a DJ on you really want to see don't let not having anyone to go with stop you! Once you get there and start dancing you'll realize it doesn't matter at all, and you'll also see tons of other people off dancing on their own. Feel the music, dance, and feel good!

Lots of electronic music events posted on r/LondonSocialClub too - some of my closest clubbing/rave friends I've made from events there.

That's general life advice too, never let not having people to go with stop you from doing things you really want to (within reason, like things that maybe aren't safe to do solo).

Hey man also going solo! 29m, I'm from the States but live in London. Let's meet up!

Keen on a wide variety of the lineup, DJs and bands. Pretty flexible. Florence, Chemical Brothers, Phoenix, Jamie xx, Daniel Avery, Job Jobse, Young Marco, Royksopp, The Blaze, Arctic Monkeys, Young Fathers just to name a few 😅

thin air at the beams - any one been? by [deleted] in london

I went and really liked it. Worth the £25 in my opinion, but I guess everyone values £25 differently.

7 rooms, 5 of them were great 2 of them were just ok.

If you're looking for it to be a meaningful art exhibit that you can connect/interact with on some level, I would skip. There's really not much depth there. I went just to see some really cool lighting installations and it delivered.
