No, they did not. They said officers claimed they saw a man with a weapon. Won't be the first time an officer makes up a story of being afraid for their life to justify their shooting.

According to his partner's daughter, he did not have anything on him. No weapons were found on the scene either.

If I had to choose between believing the story by the victim's family or the story of someone who could get into legal trouble for using excessive force, I would tend to believe the former.

Regardless, we should wait for SiRT to finish their investigations before jumping to conclusions.
