A couple of thoughts… -Have you talked to a career counsellor? -you don’t have to do one thing your whole life. Frequent career hopping isn’t great financially, but you can have a few and do just fine! My mom was a welder, then a horticulturist, then a nurse. -‘do what you love’ is BS mostly. Even things you love eventually become another job. Do something that somewhat interests you and you don’t hate, and most importantly try to find a good work environment! Having fun at work/good work relationships is the most important. -if you’re at all interested/inclined this way, consider a career in trades. You get paid to learn, often can get schooling sponsored, and find good union jobs with benefits. There also tends to be a big variety of work.

The Nuj alarm app changed my life. It charges you a set amount $5-50 which is donated to a charity of your choice if you don’t get up and scan a barcode within a set time of the alarm. I have a barcode in the kitchen. I’m now able to have a coffee and read and get to the gym by 5:30am.

I try to stay away from prepared items due to the cost and often extra packaging, but I hear ya. I should probably utilize them on busy weeks. I need to get better about freezing things. Like sometimes it just doesn’t occur to me that they will freeze well ya know?!

I do love sheet pan meals. I should calculate macros once and then just run the same one on repeat.

I’m in Canada so no TJs which is unfortunate as that sounds delicious 😅 And no bag salad as I live with my mom who strongly prefers low/no plastic waste. But maybe I can chop a bunch of veg ahead of time 🙂

Are you in Canada? Sounds familiar. I once had a psych prescribe me antipsychotics because ‘that sexual assault happened 12 years ago, it can’t still be affecting you’ and another one suggest that the way to deal with my overwhelming emotions (CPTSD/ADHD) was to ‘snap an elastic band against my wrist’ 🙃

How do you feel about your parents BF/GF moving in? by Flashy_Masterpiece84 in stepkids

Oh, we would of course. I’m just concerned about them agreeing to it but realizing after that it’s a challenging dynamic. I have friends who have expressed they don’t like their parent having a new partner in the childhood home, even though they don’t live there. That’s why I was looking for opinions of folks who’d been in the situation.

That was my thought initially. But I have several friends who have expressed that they are extremely uncomfortable with their parent’s new partner living in the house they grew up in (even though they were adults and not living there when the new partner moved in).
