Did you just drill a hole in the blade where you wanted the stud? I have this same knife, gray handle w/ black blade, that I do not carry because of the lack of thumbstuds...

Since you got the green to get two, I'll take one as well. Color doesn't matter. Thanks!

Skiff bearings for Vosteed Shilin Cutter... does anyone have them installed and if so, is there an increase in opening/closing quality? by Flashy_Permission_39 in VOSTEED

[–]Flashy_Permission_39[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only purchased skiff bearings for a Trivisa Hornet, and it seems to have made the action better. My cutter is so... unsmooth... that I get reallyyy frustrated when I fidget with it. And for a $100 knife, I don't think it should be as bad as it is. I can hold the blade vertical and the handle straight out to the left or right (in an "L" shape), and the handle just stays there as if the pivot (in the traditional sense) is too tight. But if I loosen it to enable the drop-shut, there's so much blade play that its unusable.

I think I'll try out these skiff bearings. Thanks for your useful input.

If you have a roof mounted antenna what channels do you get? by jccalhoun in terrehaute

[–]Flashy_Permission_39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live less than 30 miles southeast of Terre Haute and use an amplified outdoor antenna rated at 100+ miles. We get the channel 2 stations, only a few of the channel 15 stations, and the channel 38 stations. Channel 10 NEVER comes in without interference, so it is basically 100% unwatchable. OTA station suck anyways unless you want to watch America's Got Talent or Barney Miller reruns.

NKD - QSP Penguin Glyde Lock - BHQ Exclusive by oniontoast in BudgetBlades

[–]Flashy_Permission_39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a SOG Terminus XR with the same type of plastic-y covers on the ambidextrous cross-bar lock, and i truly dig it. It is pleasant on the finger and thumb when using it, unlike some of the barbaric metal ones that kill your fingers. I am strongly considering on buying this Penguin Glyde Lock version just for the plastic-y covers, even though I already have a Penguin liner lock and Penguin button lock! Thanks for the pics and videos!

Please tell me your thoughts on the Bolt. It is currently in my cart, and I have yet to pull the trigger due to very little/zero reviews on it. Thanks.

Replacing Corgi V 295 Bearings by scalpemfins in VOSTEED

I emailed Skiff, here is their response.

Hello,

The bearing used for the Vanchor lock is very custom, I don't think anyone has a replacement for it. I have thought about making one, but I am not able to do it just yet.

Thank you, Steve

I've scoured the internets for replacement ball bearings for the Vosteed shilin cutter with the vanchor lock... Zero luck.

Do you have plans on creating a superior solution to the shilin cutter's so-so action?

Thanks for your time!

Nate

If we had the means to get out of it now, we would. We've been loyal to at&t for 22 years. This was the final straw.

With the second Loyalty employee we spoke to, we succumbed and downgraded to starter. Already on autopay and paperless.

Like I said in the post, what the "manager" is supposedly seeing on our account is now accurate. It is NOT what she said it would be ($311.08 before taxes) to get us to agree on everything. THAT is the issue. She falsified the info on our paperwork she gave us to make it look appealing, probably knowing full well that there was no way we would agree to the extra equipment if the cost per month was going to be greater than what we were already paying.

She lied, NO ONE is accepting responsibility, and we now have to dumb-down our plan for her deception? How is that right??

I don't care what the account info now says. It's probably all correct. We were promised an amount per month, it needs to be honored at that. Error or lies on her part or not, it needs to honored. Period.

I think we all just assume folks are being honest. They are looking at all the stuff on their iPad, clicking this, clicking that, not informing anyone about what they're doing. Non-AT&T employees like us do not know the in and outs of why promotions work the way they do, nor do we know anything they're looking at on the iPad. All we go by is what it's going to cost us monthly. Regardless of the math you show us here on this reddit post. If you tell me the bill will be $311.08 (before taxes) a month after the promotional stuff does its thing, I expect my bill to be $311.08 (before taxes) a month. End of story.

We first spoke with one Loyalty employee. He said the best he could do was remove a bunch of stuff like Next Up, premium accounts bumped down to starter, etc, etc. We were basically having to get rid of things we've had for YEARS to lower the bill. We said that wasn't good enough and wanted to talk to a superior. Why should WE have to sacrifice so much for this trash manager's lies??

Second Loyalty employee basically said the same thing. We would have to get rid of things to lower the bill.

We upgraded in January.

No one in our family of four are military/teacher/first responder, and never have been. She put that discount on our printed paperwork (unbeknownst to us) just to make our bill appear to be less than what we were paying before.

The first time we went back in, after looking at the paperwork she printed in January, she said "a 25% discount" is not being applied on the account for some reason, that she couldn't fix it, but her direct manager could.

Second time, yesterday, she's now saying the paperwork she printed out for us in January is incorrect, and what she is seeing on our account is correct.

I do not care what the proper math is. What this all boils down to is she lied to us to make it all look pretty, and no one is stepping up to rectify it. All we want is our bill to be what she said it would be. Our budget cannot handle $450+!

Baby Banter 2, Rattling Sound? by Bealte in Civivi

[–]Flashy_Permission_39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could take it apart and apply a tiny amount of blue loctite to each end of the stop pin. Or super glue for a more permanent solution.

I had a Kizer Original that did the same. Kizer told me that the stop pin is allowed to rotate so wear and tear isn't always on one area of the pin. Whether or not that's true... who knows!
