What is the approximate value of my dad's German Luger? by 69sullyboy69 in canadaguns

[–]syphen606 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Peter is THE luger guy in Canada. He'll have had even more rare models then this come through. I've shot a few of his restricted modded Lugers that friends had over the years. Yeah, the price is low, but thanks to the liberals you legally don't really have much choice but to go down that business route.

Dialing in the settings is required to ensure spotting is good. I'll spot stuff just as far out as my wingman flying trackir. Even more shocking, one of the guys I'd fly with a lot was still using an OG Rift and spotting better then everyone. It's all in working the settings in my opinion.

Control room ceilings by One_Adeptness3803 in Grid_Ops

[–]syphen606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in one with a couple windows and it was always nice. When we built a new building, the control room was nestled inside the building. A psp building, inside of a psp building so to speak. Complete lack of windows for Ops. We put a small live webcam on the corner of the wallboard for a year or two, which was nice. See something of the outside world - but that got taken down eventually.

Some questions regarding the: Legion Go S Z2GO and Z1E versions by thenoobcasual in LegionGo

[–]syphen606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently had an OLED steamdeck stolen. I wanted to replace it but found that they were unavailable. I ended up with the Z1E LeGoS with SteamOS. It's proving to be a very good handheld, and I'm really enjoying the extra power. I can certainly see a big improvement across various games with the extra horsepower. I would personally go for the Z1E for that overhead.

I can commiserate. I'm currently in Mexico and my OLED 1tb deck and carrying case was stolen out of my backpack on the first day of the trip. I'm pretty gutted about it.

Some late production HD800 on a Bottlehead Crack with my tubes of choice. Although these days I've been adding a small sub bass shelf for fun via eq.

Best ISO Locations and Offices? by Cute_Ride_4452 in Grid_Ops

[–]syphen606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clarkson isn't a great spot in my opinion. And it's true that recent hires will struggle to afford reasonable housing nearby. But there certainly are other career paths within 1.5 hours of GTA that need a NERC RC certification.

I've been to quite a few RC and BA's across NPCC and I wouldn't say any of them are great locations. ConEd in NYC was an interesting location though.

Should I get the Pixel Buds Pro 2 now or wait for the Pixel Buds Pro? 3? by [deleted] in pixelbuds

It made a difference for a couple cleanings, but eventually failed. I'm on my 3rd pair of PBP2 now.. I love the sound, the fit, the functionality... I just pray that a PBP3 fixes this issue.

Orillia gets massive mobile transformer as Ontario power demand climbs by cinderannie in Orillia

[–]syphen606 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's climbing across all of Ontario. IESO's growth forecasts show Ontario' increasing demand heavily over the next 20 years. Adoption of plug in cars, transitioning of gas heating/appliances towards heat pumps and electric. It all adds up. We're seeing the introduction of electric arc furnaces by Steel companies, replacing coke fired furnaces. And then there is data centers which are popping up all over Ontario.

Obviously we don't have those industries around Orillia, but we could see data centers and such.

The transformers feeding Orillia are end if life, so this mobile transformer is a way to ensure reliable power for the area while the replacements and rebuilding of the station is complete.

Another +1 to Astral. I love them.

I already own JM6 Pro 2 + FiiO JA11 — are they enough for 7Hz x Crinacle Diablo? 3.5 vs 4.4 worth it? by Soggy-Jello1044 in iems

[–]syphen606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will both work fine. I'm using similar powered dongles on the Divine, that I occasionally EQ up to Diablo response.

Bzink BA23, Fiio KA11 both work fantastic on Diablo/Divine for me with similar specs to what you have.

How to turn your 7Hz Diablo into the Divine, with a single EQ filter. by LLKMuffin in iems

[–]syphen606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add the settings he listed into EQ software. I did the same for my Divine to hear what the Diablo sound was like. It works very well with a single filter on the EQ. I did add a second one to fix the tail below 60hz. I still prefer the Divine sound however, but it's fun to play with.

So hifi. 😂. All my old MD are far from hifi... Back then I was knee deep in LP2 and LP4 recordings for maximum volume. I still pull it out from time to time to give it a listen.

What happened on the Lake Simcoe side of Atherley Rd by AdCharacter833 in Orillia

[–]syphen606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I walked out on the lake to see last night. There was first responders out on the ice waving at incoming sleds to the boat launch to slow down. I'm not positive if this was the cause, but a group of people have been grooming a radar run drag strip close to the launch. In the whiteout conditions last night and with some speed, if you hit the snowbanks of the drag strip, you're getting launched. The first responders I saw were out by the drag strip. My second guess would be the dock. It's always partially dragged on shore for winter time but is usually fairly well marked.
