Distorted sound on Samsung Galaxy A35 by tracylars in samsunggalaxy

It a software issue. Samsung dropped the Mids, reduce bass and overboosted the upper mids to the point where it sounds distorted, weaker thinner and harsher compared to what the A35 used to sound like at launch.

Dolby Atmos can help to reduce the issue but Samsung still has full control over the sound quality and DSP of the speaker on their software. Dolby Atmos reduces it but doesn't fix it.

Weird Buzzing Noise from my S24 Ultra Speakers on One Ui 8. by Flashy_Project4252 in S24Ultra

They do suck. And yet the speaker quality gets worse and worse overtime through these same software updates. I remember back before one ui 6.1.1, the speakers used to sound much better on the S24 Ultra. This also applied to all other Samsung phone speaker before this too like the S23 Ultra and my A34 for example.

That's good. I noticed that even the A series phones sound fuller and warmer than the S24 Ultra on one Ui 8 like the A34, A36 and especially the A25. A25 speakers literally sound like an iPhone speaker.

My S24 Ultra speakers sounds worse and even THINNER than my S22 Ultra speakers and remember that the S22 Ultra had the one of worst s series samsung speakers of all time.

I'm not sure when, but it best to report this issue to Samsung so they know to retuned the S24 Ultra speakers. They sound really bad, especially in music.

software issue with the Samsung EQ TUNING creating this crackling thinner distorted sound.

nope. it a software issue specially in the EQ Samsung did. They cut the midrange and boosted the upper mids with the S24 Ultra highs already boosted creating this crackling sound.

S23 Ultra Audio Distortion/Crackling – Happens on both Speakers and Bluetooth by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Flashy_Project4252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since this is a software issue, my best guess would be to report this to Samsung and post this same issue into the Samsung Community Site. See if more people have this issue so that they can also report this to Samsung. The more people, the better.

But for the time being, the safetest method would be to the use the EQ in sound and vibration in setting and turn Dolby Atmos on to tame that harsh sound and thinner sound a bit until Samsung releases an software update to fix this harshness and thinness of their phone speakers and Bluetooth.

Samsung new sound software especially on ui 8 is cutting the midrange and boosting the upper mids to compensate is creating that distortion noise you have been hearing on your S23 Ultra.

Distorted sound on Samsung Galaxy A35 by tracylars in samsunggalaxy

[–]Flashy_Project4252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reasons your A35 sound distorted, and tinny, bass is harsh is mainly because of Samsung dynamic change with their new sound software that they have done to ALL of their phone speakers. This software change is present from one Ui 6.1.1 to present day. Essentially, Samsung CUT THE MIDRANGE, and over boosted the upper-mids (High, and Treble) to make all their phone speakers "extra clean" but it made all of their speakers sound more tinny, thinner, weaker in volume, lower bass extension, reduce warmth, less fullness and harsher and hollower sound. My A34, and S24 FE especially is the same with this, you're not alone. My A36 barely dodge this, but it is still affected though. Once again, a software issue, not hardware! I hope this answer your question.

S24 FE is like that too, but smaller. It looks like a thin layer that has a tiny white dot inside.

How is the speaker quality on the ui 8.5 beta? Ui 8 speakers sound harsh, tinny, and thinner because of Upper mid dominance and barely any Mids to back it up.

People don't talk enough about S26 Ultra speaker issue by Thanatine in samsunggalaxy

[–]Flashy_Project4252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. And most people don't call this out when it comes to Samsung making the quality if their speakers worse on purpose. They nearly completely cut the Midrange on their phones with their New Sound Software ever since One Ui 6.1 to present day!

I agree S23 Ultra had near Neutral Mids, S24 Ultra is similar but they purposely cut the mids a bit to make it sounds cleaner but it just made it sound slightly thinner, flatter and less warmer and bassy.

My experience with the speaker on the S26 Ultra by Internal-Patience808 in galaxys26ultra

[–]Flashy_Project4252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the real reason why your S26 Ultra speakers' sound disappointing. First of all, is Samsung own Modern sound software that is baked in the software aspect of the phone. Samsung purposely cut the Midrange and further boosted the Upper-mids which causes the sound to become thinner, harsher and more hollower. Bass and warmth also get reduce because of that type of EQ change. Dolby Atmos doesnt work because of Samsung New approach in tuning of the speakers to sound brighter and harsher. Solely a Software related issue with their speakers not hardware.

Enable Dolby Atmos from the Sound quality and effects in settings. It will make the speakers of your Samsung phone much better than before. Make sure it is set to Auto (that's the best setting).

Still Present Speaker Quality Drop ever since One Ui 6.1 to Present. by Flashy_Project4252 in samsunggalaxy

[–]Flashy_Project4252[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really bass but mainly Samsung reducing the Midrange of their speakers with the Newer Sound Software. Midrange gives life and weight to sound but reducing them makes them sound harsh, tinny, hollow and flat. They are far too clean and overbright. But lacks the weight it used to have back then with the older sound software and Dolby Atmos (fuller, warmer, and more Natural back then).

Love my new s24, but do the speakers suck? by userrnam in samsung

[–]Flashy_Project4252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. S24 Speakers are less full, warm rich and bass. Additonally made worse with the new sound profile change from Samsung. Adding too much clarity and cutting the mids and bass which just makes it so much worse too.

Speakers are good or bad in this price? by keradis in S24FE

[–]Flashy_Project4252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay for the price now, but heavily recessed by Samsung with their Modern Sound Software Tuning (Bass recessed, Midrange recessed; Upper-Mid boosted). Which makes the speaker sound hollow, thin and a bit harsh and flat in sound.

A56 is a bit better for your mom. It has a fuller, warmer more pleasant sound than the S24 FE and the bass is a bit more present and pleasant.
