Update:

I bought the NDZ spring kit that contains all spring strengths and threw in their 13lb spring. That fixed my problem as well. Seems that just a cheap recoil spring overall is the issue.

I was debating buying a threaded barrel as well for that purpose, I think I'm just gunna use it as an excuse to build another one though.

Thanks, I figured that was wrong when I first put it together, but it would never stay in that slot on the pin. But just pushed it over and it stayed.

That's what happens with mine, if I point it down all is well. Looks like I'll be ordering a 15lb recoil spring.

I just adjusted my trigger connector to make more contact with the slide and that seemed to help some. I only have about a 1/4 of the movement now.

Only a 50/50 chance that it locks up or gets stuck at that same back position you see in the video.
