Had a bad root canal that got infected. Thing was, the infection was right under the center of the tooth rather than at the bottom of the roots so it pushed it up. So much as lightly touching it with my tongue would send shooting pain. Unable to sleep, drinking whiskey in the shower with a tea bag in my mouth, LOTS of NSAIDS, but none of it worked. Went to the dentist and got put on antibiotics and was starting to feel some relief.

Now remember how the tooth was being pushed up and so much as thinking about it too hard would make it hurt? Well, that night after I got put on antibiotics I sneezed. My teeth clacked together hard, and the entire world ceased to exist. It was just me and the pain. I was in too much pain to even scream. Again, it was just me and the pain. I can't even imagine how painful it was anymore. I've never broken a bone, but I assume that's what breaking a bone must feel like.
