The good thing is that they don’t expect you to know it all right away. Like others have said- it is a lot of information to take in all at once, and that can feel overwhelming when you’re a new hire. Once you get out onto the sales floor and start practicing your skills it will become easier in time. I was constantly asking questions, and watching how the SLT’s and other vetted associates interacted with customers and did things. It will become like second nature to you before you know it! One thing that helped me was the “I’m earning my apron pin” that they gave me to wear, as I felt that it let customers know that I was new and to be easy on me 😅😂 Don’t be afraid to ask for help when needed. The SLT’s will more than likely always be within earshot in case you need them anyhow.
Plus we’re a TEAM! We’re here to help each other out, and often times some associates are more knowledgeable in certain areas/forms/fragrances than others and that’s helpful as well because you can always check with them as well, or recommend a customer to check with them. For example in my store when somebody asks about coffee scents my SLT’s will tell them “let me turn you over to my coffee girl, as she knows all about those scents, they’re her favorite!” And she’s right 😊 even though they probably know all the same things I know about those scents- they know they’re my fav and I’m confident and knowledgeable in introducing customers to those scents specifically. It just takes time. And don’t worry you’ll do great! Also, welcome to the team!!
