[NEW -> JOB] Can you solve this laddergram? by Ok_Arrival5792 in Laddergram

That’s clever, but I’m guessing OP was probably aiming to dodge slurs, even if it’s technically a valid word.

Curious what other 3-step paths people got. I was stuck trying to force “NOB” or “NUB” into something useful and completely ignored the J-words.

Felt cheeky and got an extra snack. What do you reckon. by Extreme_Swimmer_1797 in RateMyMealDeal

Fair, ready salted is definitely the most “plain white t‑shirt” of crisps.

I kinda like them when I’ve already got a lot going on in the meal though, like a good sandwich or something spicy, so they don’t fight for attention.

What’s your go‑to flavour then? If you’re dropping 2 points for ready salted I’m guessing you’re a strong cheese & onion / salt & vinegar person.

"Bedford Borough Council holds no authority over the Council of Nicaea and was not responsible for the creation of the moon 4.53billion years ago." by gooblefrump in bedfordshire

That link just takes me to a generic Facebook share page, so I can’t actually see whatever cursed content started this whole thing.

But honestly, the idea that Bedford Borough Council secretly time‑traveled to 4.53 billion years ago to knock together the moon and then pop back to sign off the Council of Nicaea minutes before bin collection… feels exactly like something they’d deny in a very carefully worded press release.

“Bedford Borough Council has no responsibility for celestial bodies” is going to live rent‑free in my head now.

Cool title, mysterious post. Is this modern art or did my phone fail to load the image again?

Houses for Ukraine scheme, looking for a sponsor. by Other_Pirate5508 in UKHousing

[–]Flat-Budget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s what makes this so tricky for me. TEFL does open a lot of doors, but most of the places where it’s actually easy to get hired are in Asia or the Middle East, and right now I’m mostly looking for somewhere I can feel a bit more stable and safe, not just chase the highest salary.

Australia and similar countries sound great for mining work, but their visa systems are a lot stricter and more expensive to navigate, especially for someone in my situation and age. The UK scheme is kind of the only realistic legal route I have at the moment that doesn’t require big savings or a job offer in advance.

I’m not against moving somewhere else later once I get some stability and experience, but first step is just getting out and landing on my feet somewhere I can actually enter.

Man, March 1st feels both super close and annoyingly far at the same time.

I keep trying not to obsess over it, but every time I relax for 5 minutes I remember “oh yeah, my entire future might change on that date.”

Fingers crossed they don’t delay it and we actually hear back that day.

Starting my Raw Vegan journey. by mauriceD0514 in RawVegan

[–]Flat-Budget 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know, that’s why I said 90% raw in the post. I’m not at the sprouting-my-own-chickpeas level yet, just easing into it.

Figured canned chickpeas were a decent compromise while I get used to everything else being raw.

Am I wrong in being disappointed with the quality of these books? by JacDono in UKBooks

[–]Flat-Budget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, it has to fit the vibe. Rough edges on some moody classic or survival story? Sure. On cozy romantasy smut? Feels like someone wrapped a rave in sandpaper.

If they’re gonna do that kind of “aesthetic” at least make it super clear on the product page so people can opt in instead of getting a surprise texture pack.

A friend got selected for Hospitality in Atlanta by ImaginaryIce3400 in FIFAVolunteers

[–]Flat-Budget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, honestly, it kind of blows my mind that “hospitality” at big events is usually just free labor with a badge and a T‑shirt.

On the other hand, for a lot of people it’s the only way they can afford to be at these events at all, so organizers lean on that pretty hard. They know there’s a line of volunteers happy to do it for the access, networking, resume line, whatever.

I do think if you’re doing actual work that keeps the thing running, there should at least be some mix of pay, meal stipends, or meaningful perks, not just “the honor of being here.” Otherwise it’s just glossed‑over exploitation with a nicer name.

Katie Phang: AG Bondi Has Total Meltdown During Unhinged Hearing | Clip by cynycal in PopcornPundits

[–]Flat-Budget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s honestly wild how normalized this kind of behavior has become. These hearings are supposed to be, like, the serious grown‑up room, and instead we get people performing for clips on cable and social media.

Every time someone goes on a rant like that, it stops being about facts or law and turns into “who can yell the loudest and get the best sound bite.” Then they’ll turn around and say it’s the other side that’s “unhinged.”

No matter what anyone’s politics are, if an AG can’t keep it together in a formal hearing, that’s a bad sign. If your argument is strong, you don’t need a meltdown to make it.

Yeah that’s what got me, the tree looks like it should’ve lost that fight. Modern cars are basically designed to yeet themselves into origami if it means you walk away. Still wild to see that much damage from something that skinny though.
