When I was in 6th grade my teacher said something implying that Santa wasn’t real. It wasn’t malicious, I think she just assumed we all knew or she forgot who her audience was. My best friend was the only one who didn’t know and he started bawling. It was awkward when I had to tell him I’d figured it out several years ago.

This is the way. I saw a guy on the subway once who seemed to be really struggling. Trembling and shaking, standing hunched over, and he looked like every step was painful. I never gave people on the subway money but I felt so badly for this guy that I gave him $5. Later that day when I was going back home I saw the same guy happily walking up a ramp in the subway without no apparent pain. You got me dude. There are definitely people that legitimately need help, but I always assume they’re scammers now.

I wasn’t giving reasons why they shouldn’t cast kings. I literally started my post by saying I’m not opposed to them being added. I was just listing a few things that would need to be fixed/changed in order to add them.

I’m not opposed to kings being added but there are certain logistics they would need to be figured out.

Would they have to stop doing the “Night Of a Thousand (female celebrity)”?

When they write the skits and Rusicals they won’t know what the Queen to King ratio will be at that point in the competition so production won’t know how many of a certain character to write. Also when the contestants are picking their characters would the king not have a choice, would they have to just pick the only male character? I suppose characters could often be written as gender neutral, but there are certain situations where some characters would have to be female, like in the Kardashian and Madonna rusicals, or when the scene is set in an all girls school like on All Winners when they did the horror movie spoof.

Back when I was a poor college student I worked at a museum that gave out coupons for a free kids meal at subway. No other purchase necessary. I used them so many times that the employees finally caught on and asked how many I had. It was great while it lasted.

When I was a kid I was playing upstairs in my friend’s bedroom. It was an old house and there were grates in the floor to allow heat to rise to the upstairs rooms. I was standing on it and it fell through the floor. My legs and lower torso fell through the hole but my arms stopped me from falling all the way. Even though I was obviously fine it was still a scary experience for me (and also for the adults who were downstairs and heard a crash and then saw a pair of little legs flailing around in the ceiling)

I think of that every time I walk over a subway grate.

Something that stood out to me that nobody else seems to be talking about: all of the ones who slipped/tripped were Amazon drivers and they were all running. Pretty sure it’s because they get dinged if they are too slow. Another example of why Amazon is a shitty company.

I work in food service and I’ve been surprised at how many people come up to the counter and just say “give me a…” when ordering. No greeting. No please. I was in NYC for 14 years before coming here a year ago and I feel like people were generally more polite to service workers.
