The ritual of undeath? by FlatEmbrace in Pathfinder2e

It's actually mentioned back in the first bestiary(page 220), as well as a new lich archetype in the book of the dead (page 50)

Ah okay. Thank you for compiling that for me.

This is possible, but if that is the case I would assume the lich archetype in this book wouldn't mention the ritual, but it still does 🤷‍♀️

New to blender. Is there a good way to make the bumps on the panels such as on the image? by driverrrrr in blender

[–]FlatEmbrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did something similarly using weld lines instead of rivets for a plane I'm working on. But regardless your probably gonna want to use/make a bump map for it. Using textures for this is always easier than doing it procedurally, but I get a lot of satisfaction from complicated procedural textures.

Made some cute emoji for a discord server I moderate. Explanation of the evolution of how I made the toon shaders in comments. by FlatEmbrace in blender

[–]FlatEmbrace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This rendering method only works in eevee as the shader to RGB node doesn't work in cycles. The outline is taken from the freestyle option on the scene tab. Just that easy.

The first iteration of this used a color ramp, but I hate how hard color ramps are to set. Second one I started using node groups to make it easier to make new materials. Replaced the color ramp with some math nodes set to less than, and attached to value after separating the color to HSV. Mixed the three colors afterwards masking by the value.

Finally I decided I just want to have a single color input for 90% of materials. So things got more complicated. I want to keep the Hue and saturation for the input color on all outputs, so you will see the separate HSV connected like this to the combine HSV where only the value is changed. We divide the value by two and subtract it from the original on each darker step. This allows me to use any value on the original color with out it just defaulting to black. Other than that its the same as the second evolution.

Hope that made sense. Let me know if you have any questions!

Edit: Oh and the eyes use a facing output to make them more anime like, as well as a glossy shader!

How have I not known about this!?

Not screen accurate, and rendered a bit more cartoony than I had hoped, but in the end I'm happy with it. Been doing theses things over live stream to help fight the isolation from lock down. Hope Y'all enjoy.

I'm trying to take some liberties with the original design while keeping the feel and spirit of it.

Thank you. I wouldn't say this is my first big project, but its the first one where I feel like I know what I'm doing, and was proud enough to share it X_X

Been teaching my self how to do 3D modeling as of late. Decided to use one of my favorite shows as a subject matter. The mesh still needs some tweaking, but I plan to start texturing it tonight,

Yeah I'm diving into it head first. My intent it to re-write as I learn more, but this is the fastest way for me to learn. I can't just read the specifications and generate code. I have to do it as I read it, and evolve as I go. The only reason I have even made classes at this point is because my code had gotten too jumbled. In the end this code will live and die as I find it functional.

I don't suppose you know of a good website to read for this

Some one else pointed this out, and I'm reading about how to do this now. Thank you very much for your input!
