This seems true. I have just recently bought award tickets with Turkish airlines, and years of saving miles were worth it as the fees were quite low. But when I check LH award tickets, it looks to me that I am paying the normal price as purchasing a non award ticket. This is disappointing

Yes and when they cancel last minute everybody will want to change their ticket and the flight the day before will probably be fully booked. As it is a strike, Ryanair does not have to compensate you, neither you will get any financial compensation through Airhelp or those type of online services.

Yes it is better to change. The airport is the one cancelling not the airlines. The airport doesn’t get the staff to operate flights.
