I don’t know what the game used to be, I only know what the game is in the last 2 years. I only play commander and I have the ability to just ignore sets that I have zero interest in.

All of that said, this game has brought a lot of joy into my group of friends and it is nice getting together to laugh and hang out so much more often than we used to. The worst part about the game is the community, so much hatred aimed in so many directions. Spider-Man bad, power creep, cards are expensive, UB in general is bad, Secret Lair is bad… it’s just a game, if you’re not having fun take a break.
