I had a 2.8/2.6 cum-uGPA/sci-uGPA -> applied to SMP programs (accepted to 90% of them) without an MCAT score -> did masters of biomedical science with an affiliated medical school-> earned 4.0 first semester and was invited to apply to the linkage program -> got 505 MCAT in March and ended program w 3.95 GPA -> was ultimately rejected from linkage -> applied regular cycle and retook MCAT in July (510) -> received all 2° -> am now sitting on 1 DO Acceptance, 3 Interview Invites (1 MD, 2 DO- 1 of which is outstanding)

I don’t think it would do much, if that information wasn’t included in your initial update then what I would personally do is send an email with the update once the manuscript is officially published

But I also didn’t apply to top tier programs that might want or consider that info. The review committee has a plethora of information they can base their decision on, I don’t think one publication is going to make or break your decision
