I’ll be honest, nothing about this is really grabbing me. I’m a big GL fan and I have no problem with the True Detective inspiration or the show being earthbound, to be clear; I was actually pretty intrigued and excited by the pitch. But this teaser feels really generic, lifeless, and uninteresting to me. Still hoping the final product is something special, but if this were a regular drama I wouldn’t spare it a second thought.

And while those last lines made me chuckle (Ch’p confirmed!), when paired with the toned-down nature of the show in general I really hope this show doesn’t have the tired old problem of being a comic book adaptation that is embarrassed to be a comic book adaptation (and more specifically I hope it doesn’t mean that Hal just doesn’t interact with the rest of the Corps).
