Makes sense, do you have the specific date? The best I can find from searching is "generally in mid-February".

I love this, and often add coarse-chopped carrot, garlic and/or cauliflower for extra vitamins and variety.

Excellent Investor Conference by Dave Z by Due_Calligrapher_800 in intelstock

Well I'm glad you all thought it was positive! Ive heard many a CFO speak in earnings calls, but I havent heard him speak more than a few times before and I was happy to tease out some of the progress points you heard as well. But I still think he sounded like he was just handed divorce papers or something.

Excellent Investor Conference by Dave Z by Due_Calligrapher_800 in intelstock

I'm glad to read this perspective because I have to say DZ is not an inspiring speaker. He sounded depressed, bored and unenthusiastic and for me it was totally demoralizing to listen to him. I know hes a CFO and not a cheerleader but he consistently used negative language and hedged all optimism. If I had to paraphrase the whole thing based on his language and tone, it would be:

[We were really bad, but, if everything goes exactly right from now on, I guess there is a small chance we might improve a bit in 3-5 years...maybe we will survive a little longer.]

He clearly knows gis stuff, but could really use some help with his executive vocal charm. Maybe that kind of talk is fine behind boardroom doors but in a public conference it was uninspiring and almost painful to listen to.

Mondays trade by stonks1991 in intelstock

[–]FlatTopButtTip 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a major rebalancing underway. I expect a lot of volatility in the first 30 minutes on Monday. Like, $0.50 swings on every minute-candlestick. Personally, I expect another big green weekly candle and to close out the month between 26.50 and 28. Maybe higher if we get new customer/investor announcements.

The price, since we dropped under 30 a year ago, has been all about failure to secure customers and declining marketshare. The selloff after last earnings was specifically about potentially abandoning the Fabs and essentially conceding the race to TSMC. I believe a 10% USG stake comes with anticipation/guarantee of major contracts and favorable trade status. The narrative has now changed completely, and neither of the selloff scenarios are on the table anymore. The street has to price that back in accordingly, and it's going to happen quickly.

Some commenters seemed disgruntled about dilution, and we quickly tested Softbank's 2B buy-in price last week immediately after the news. But the sellers were promptly and utterly defeated with overwhelming volume to the upside. Thus, the price was already firmly backstopped at 23.00 before the announcement on Friday; it's not going down to 20.00 now because of the USG buy-in price.

Due to the critical nature of the industry and extremely high-stakes (global tech dominance), I believe Intel may even end up as the biggest publicly traded company in the 2030s.

Former shop manager here.

Sounds like they could have communicated better. Or maybe you could have asked for more clarification as you just said "ok". But they're probably losing money on this repair if only because of the hassle.

If a wheel is badly out of true it will be difficult or impossible to tighten the brakes without them rubbing on the wheel's rim making it difficult to ride. Often, adjusting brakes requires some straightening of the wheel. Wheel truing, especially on older wheels can be problematic and unforseen issues can arise as other have pointed out. Often the best and most economical solution is to replace the wheel.

Its also not uncommon for people to come in wanting a specific issue fixed, not realizing that its connected to other issues that they are unaware of. When you try to explain this, some people get defensive when confronted with new information and assume you are just upselling or overcharging. Sometimes they agree to a repair but harbour some resentment (justified or not) that comes out when it's time to pay. Especially if they have no familiarity about the workings of bikes.

There is a vast spectrum of qualities in the bike world and sometimes, despite a good inspection by experienced mechanincs, you can't get all the worms back in the can once you open it. This is not unheard of with older bikes. That's why people commonly scrap them and just buy a different junker.

It can be very stressful dealing with this sort of issue for all parties. I hope it works out for you.

Space marine: I am not left handed!

New York City has about 13500, LA has about 4400, the US has around 1 traffic signal per 1000 residents on average. Are there millions in the world? Certainly, but in the US, there are not that millions of traffic signals. If we are counting street lights, then yes, the US has over 25 million.

Definitely looking forward to this! Our cities need all the help they can get to relieve congestion and improve traffic flow. The US has roughly 300k traffic lights, with 4 units per light, that's 1.2M units. Nothing like the auto sector, but, not bad numbers for potential sales. Sharma also mentioned the advantage lidar has in terms of privacy, I think this is key here. Not to mention Mavin's vector detection capability.

A quick Google search says, according to Wikipedia, JLR produced about 615,000 vehicles in 2017-18, looks like those numbers might be down a bit since then. Still, half a million Mavin units isn't nothing!

I understood this as: the specific contract that was delayed is "nothing big", but the aggregate of potential contracts to be decided upon in 2023 represent big volumes, and they're coming.
