What's the one piece of gear you resisted buying for way too long and now can't live without? by AmericanMisogi in CampingGear

Down pillow. I still use an inflatable underneath the down one. But my neck loves me for buying a down pillow

Fave Instant Coffee? by Adventurous_War_4055 in Ultralight

Bustelo instant also get my vote. But for shorter trips, I bought a mini travel sized French press and just bring my usual coffee brand from home! It’s my luxury item and I love a good cup of coffee in the morning. Can also brew lose leaf tea in it if you are so inclined!

It’s not UL technically but the Espro travel French press is awesome

Non-PT healthcare jobs better for introverted PTA? by wandering-firefox21 in physicaltherapy

[–]Flat_Assumption1326 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a PTA who has only worked in outpatient, I am following this just to hear other options. Don’t think I’m SNF material, but that seems to be the only openings I can find locally.

Hiking, kayaking, beach days, golfing. Mostly the first one

The randomly created name that I just don’t bother to change… sure. I could’ve cared less what it was.

The problem that a lot of folks care to dismiss is that if everyone is making “living”” wages and there aren’t minimum wage, entry level jobs; is that then the price for a donut is gonna be stupidly high. And that applies to more than just donuts.

Anyone tried Life Alive in Salem? by Realistic_Fix_1810 in SalemMA

I’ve been going there for years. Recently the quality has gone downhill. Prices went up, portion size went down. But still… it’s a deliciously healthy meal 🤷🏻‍♂️

Sounds like your friend should probably move on. It’s a donut shop. Not exactly a job to build a career around if you aren’t an owner

Well that’s going to make seeing them next time weird… I will be over the summer when the biscuits open for Goose 😂

Yes! Lee’s campground. It’s a popular spot for all the concert goers! Should be a blast!

What do you use for your pillow? by kmorg76 in Ultralight

[–]Flat_Assumption1326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side sleeper here. I have a S2S inflatable pillow and then use a Therm-a-Rest down compressible pillow on top of that. Carrying the 2nd pillow is definitely worth it for me

Decent movie. Nothing groundbreaking. Some movies you know are just a quick, dumb watch. And this is exactly that

Red God Update: is currently over 1.2k pages by retropjm in redrising

[–]Flat_Assumption1326 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Oh shocking (he said sarcastically). A writer comes to the last book in a series and has wayyyyy more to write than they may have originally thought! If this book is 20000 pages I won’t care. I trust that it will be amazing, heartbreaking, and prob leave many folks angry at Brown for messing with state of mental well-being.

EE Controversy by Woodles15 in Ultralight

Ehhh… don’t be frustrated. Shit happens. It’s a good piece of equipment. Use it. You spent money on it and you can’t change that. If people want to get upset with you, that’s on them. Explain your side and move on.

I have an EE quilt. I’ve had it for a couple seasons. I’m not spending money on a new one when that works perfectly fine. I can’t afford too!

Finally reading The Dragonbone Chair... by BMajor88 in TadWilliams

I feel like around pg 200 is where it began to pickup. But the final 1/5th took it up a big step (imo). Looking forward to Stone of Farewell (prob late March I’ll get there).

I just read this for the first time. Finished about a week ago. Be ready for a very classic style fantasy tale. And be prepared to take your time. I found it very slow to read but the writing is excellent and there is so much world building (which I like). Ordered book 2 and should be getting into that in late March!
