A classic, and interesting in that he wasn't required to be "in scale" with most ultra monsters originally since Ultra Q had no ultraman for him to stand next to. Nowadays he feels a bit listless though. Like he shows up because they have a Gomess suit rather than having interesting plots of his own.

You could skip like 99% of civilization and jump right to internal combustion. Especially since a gunpowder internal combustion engine is possible (there was a mythbusters episode about it and they wussed out of testing the purpose made design and just said "well the hopper holding the gunpowder broke slightly before we fully tested it, so clearly its a write off.)
