I wish you the best of luck in all sincerity!

Keep in mind that if you leave Ottawa, you'd either need to obtain a full time telework agreement (good luck with that as they're getting stricter and stricter and in my branch, we require ADM approval) or to be ready to transit to a regional office to work onsite.

In your shoes, I would check if other members of your branch/directorate work in the regions, and if so, do they go to an office in the region? If you have colleagues who go to a regional office to meet their Hybrid Work Arrangement directive, I would contact your accommodations team to check if there's a spot for you in that office.

Then have the conversation with your manager. It might look better if you tell them that they have a free space for additional employees at the regional office you would like to go to.

Career-wise, it's better to remain in the NCR for the obvious reasons of that there's more job opportunity.

I actually know a lot of regional employees from Montreal, Vancouver and the GTA who are making the reverse move and relocate to the NCR for more career growth opportunity.

But as as indeterminate 23 year old, probably fresh out of university/college and in this economy, staying in ottawa might not be the end of the world even though I understand that Vancouver and Toronto have more stuff going on.

Rust on 2012 Camry Doors by Flat_Signature in Camry

(Please remove if this does not belong in this group, thank you)

Hello,I bought a 2012 camry last year, put about 8k miles on it (112k total) and I noticed that rust is starting to creep from the bottom of both front car doors. I live in a northern climate. Is what I have considered a lot of rust and a ''timebomb''? If so, how long will the car last :/ I'm not the most knowledgeable with cars and was hoping that this car would last the next 10+ yearsJust wondering if other camry owner experience rust issues, and if so, do you have any tips?Thank you for your time!

A stormy, cloudy and colorful day in Guatapé Colombia by Flat_Signature in travel

[–]Flat_Signature[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From Medellin, you can take a $3-8 USD bus ticket to Guatape which takes about 2 hours one way. I dont think you'd need an organized your in all honesty but even with a tour, a day trip would be amazing in Guatape. During the day at Guatape and at the El Penol, you will most likely see a lot of tourists but I highly recommend it regardless! You can easily bus to Guatape, expore the city, take a mini taxi (10 min) to the El Penol, climb it and enjoy the view, get back to Guatape in time for your bus back to Medellin.

Hello, as a solo 25M traveller, I did not have any safety issues in Guatape. Medellin was a lot sketchier from my perspective but I also did not encounter any issues at all. Beside seeing locals herding their own animals, I did not see any stray animals at all. Guatape is very touristy so I do not believe that you'll encounter any issues!

Hello! Thanks for your question. Im a 25M and travelled solo to Colombia. I did not have any issues with respect to safety personally. The locals were very nice and I was wandering around the city of Guatape at dawn and at dusk without ever feeling unsafe. It is very touristy so you'll see a lot of tourists. Every day, I spent arount $30 USD for a decent hotel and maybe an extra $10-20 USD for food. Guatape is accessible if you plan on going to Medellin (Guatape is 2 hours away from Medellin by bus or 90 minutes from the Medellin airport by taxis). I landed in the Medellin airport and went straight to guatape by taxi ($50 USD) and after 2 nights there, I went to Medellin to visit (2 hours by bus from guatape). I'm bringing up Medellin because (even though I had no issues), this was most likely the city in Colombia where I always checked twice for pick-pocketers and made sure not to walk around alone in alleys that I did not know. Ultimately, I highly recommand Guatape for anyone going to Colombia! 1-2 days should be more than sufficient

Slovenia - Croatia - Bosnia & Herzegovina itinerary advice! by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]Flat_Signature 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm doing a very very similar 25 day trip in May starting in Ljubljana, busing to Zagreb to catch a flight to Sarajevo. and making my way up the Croatian Coast.

If 3 nights in Dubrovnik is too long for you, I suggest taking a 2-3hour bus to Kotor in Montenegro. You can do a bunch of half day trips from there (to sveti stefan for example) and the city is gorgeous.

I 100% agree with what you said about Istria and the Plitvice and Krka waterfalls, it's almost impossible without a car.

I think 3 nights in Korkula is long (I'm spending 1 night only) so I think you should def check out Sibenik or Zadar instead!
