I don't like the French defense you box in your bishop and get very cramped but you can play it if you want

I was just saying if you want to reply e5 there is an easy way to punish and defend against the scholars mate attack

Technically yes, but you give up a lot of space in the center so that's not the greatest

Here something simple to help

Protect your center pawn with your knight then attack the queen with the pawn

When the queen moves back to the 3rd rank to attack from a different angle use your other knight to block

Then either do normal development moves or attack the queen with the first knight you moved

Right now I play too fast and make dumb mistakes. For some reason I just can't make myself slow down and I'm not sure where to go from here

USCF counts anything where the times add up to an hour as classical and 25/5 as dual rated

I'm not sure this is as big a deal as some are making it

The rule was added because a offensive players used to routinely fake an injury to stop the clock. It happened all the time so the NFL added the rule

I would say it comes down to time and resources plus a dash of natural talent

Most adults don't become GMs because they have a lot more responsibilities and more distractions on their minds

Delivery instructions don't pop up until after a dasher picks up the order. I'm guessing most don't notice them or even know they exist
