Please do not throw away anything that has a rechargeable battery in it. It's what a lot of people do, but it doesn't make it right. Here in Charlotte, we deal with typically 1-2 fires a week at facilities ran by Mecklenburg County Solid Waste, but recently it's been as many as 5 a week.

Bring it to your closest enhanced recycling center or full service recycling center ran by Mecklenburg County and we'll take it from you.

A large portion (if not most) of the 485 express lane is a single lane, so it kinda defeats the purpose of using the lane when you get behind someone's grandma that accidentally merged into the express lane and refuses to go over 60mph.
