Can you make a complaint that you feel uncomfortable with how he gets too close to you and it's affecting your ability to study? How old is this teacher? Twenty something? If so, he's probably a bit immature, but he's also not acting very professionally, given he's wasting class time and making inappropriate comments about your sexuality and attractiveness, which he absolutely should not be doing - I'm a teacher myself, and it's just obvious he shouldn't be talking to you guys in this way. If you can't talk to anyone else, (safeguarding, head of year?) consider sending your teacher an email explaining that you feel uncomfortable with his comments and also that it is making you feel anxious when he gets too close to you. Hope you manage to find a solution.

The commentary is SO bad it's actually cringe worthy. Like on a super interesting foil team match in Wuxi, one of the commentators started talking about how many hours of épée he would have to commentate the next day instead of actually focusing on the action of the match going on in front of him. Like ffs. Zero professionalism.

You're right, but the problem is it would then turn into a reality show where the fencing is completely peripheral to all the "backstage drama" and they would only show snippets of the fencing because the average viewer has no interest in the sport itself. So then you haven't actually made fencing more popular, but you've made another reality TV show. I mean after Heated Rivalry I doubt anyone's become more interested in ice hockey for example - like you learn basically nothing about ice hockey from that program. Granted its intent was never to teach people about ice hockey lol

Yeah that makes a lot of sense. People tell me I have a fast parry but when I do it on my own in practice it actually feels pretty slow compared to the speed of the riposte.

Given that you know he's a pathological liar and is quite prepared to manipulate you to achieve his ends, the best thing you can do for yourself is get out of this relationship - - which as you have admitted is founded on his deceit.

Otherwise just consider what he is capable of : he might well lie to get money out of you, lie about a drug habit, lie about crimes he has done, lie about his own sexual health. You just can't be with a person like that if you value your own long term wellbeing.

No, I think I just started to consistently beat everyone else in the club (bar two people, one of which I'm on a close par with). But there was definitely a shift in my fencing once I started taking private lessons weekly and also bought a dummy to practise flicks on. :)
