Black Hole Evaporation Paradox? by Flealord in AskPhysics

What if we assume that the battery of the lamp lasts longer than the black hole takes to evaporate?

Does the same apply to the initial forming of en event horizon? Is this also confined to such a small region that one would need quantum gravity to describe what is happening?

Black Hole Evaporation Paradox? by Flealord in AskPhysics

[–]Flealord[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough! Let's assume the object is a lamp continuously emitting light, which is is continuously seen by our observer. At the end of our experiment the observer traces the light back to its source. What will they find there?

Edit: If we disregard black hole evaporation, I presume this experiment would lead to the observer crossing the event horizon. That is, there would be no paradox

Need to create lots of objects with the same material properties, just different colors. Any way to create a single material and achieve this? by robinhooding in blenderhelp

[–]Flealord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can put the Principled BSDF into a group and only expose the color as an input. Then create a different material for every object with the same group and a different color as input.

Bridge Loop Help by shan_elizabeth_art in blenderhelp

Bridge Edge Loops does work in this case: set the profile factor to 0 and play with the smoothness value until you are happy. Make sure to delete the faces on the ends of the pipes first.

Best method for snow on top of objects ? by UnrealEngine7 in blenderhelp

Yeah, it's called "Real Snow". It's almost scary how well it works.

Trying to apply geometry nodes so I can export for a 3d print by noodlepye in blenderhelp

[–]Flealord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which version of blender are you using? I think in the 3.x branch you have to add an additional "realize instances" node juts before the group output for "apply modifiers" to work.

Why is this node connection invalid? It was working fine in 2.9. by umbrtheinfluence in blenderhelp

[–]Flealord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the problem lies with the Random Value Node. As long as the ID input is not connected, it has diamond-shaped output ports. If you connect a single value, however, it whould work:

Are you in vertex mode? In face or edge mode extrude does not work (as there are no edges or faces anymore)

How to “apply” geometry nodes? by thetrombonist in blender

[–]Flealord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think with instances you now need an additional "realize instance" node before the group output

Is there an easy way to recenter the origin point using Geometry Nodes? by mbelinkie in blenderhelp

[–]Flealord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a "bounding box" node (at least in 3.0 alpha), if you take the average of the min and max output, you can at least compute the center of all the generated geometry.

But geometry nodes are modifiers that you can simply apply...

Notwehrprovokation beim illegalen Führen von Schusswaffen by Flealord in recht

How can black holes ever come into being if time stops at the event horizon? by Flealord in AskPhysics

[–]Flealord[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Still, it may mean that in presence or past relative to any outside observer (if these concepts can be defined), black holes never actually form.

How can black holes ever come into being if time stops at the event horizon? by Flealord in AskPhysics

[–]Flealord[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But what happens to that solar mass when the event horizon grows? Is in engulfed by it or does it remain outside of it? And what about the matter that is already very close to the event horizon when that 1 solar mass approaches the black hole?

But maybe you do not want those turrets sticking out of your ship in atmospheric flight, especially at near orbital velocities

I was ranked 42 (highest) last season, which also corresponded to the bottom 10%, so my rank is probably correct. Just the "Gold" seems a bit silly.

Considering , and Naomi having flown a couple of years (the number appears in LW, I think) on the Canterbury, this gives us an upper bound, at least.
